Joe Biden has surpassed President Donald Trump in Georgia, a state where no Democratic presidential hopeful has won since 1992. The race is still too close to call, but it’s a major moment as Biden has now erased Trump’s edge. #gapol

The latest in Georgia: Trump and Biden are separated by only 18,500 votes, and more than 50,000 absentee ballots from mainly Democratic-leaning counties remain to be counted. That doesn't include provisionals, military and overseas ballots & ballots that are cured. #gapol

State elections officials just received more votes from DeKalb County, the most important Democratic stronghold in Georgia, cutting Trump’s lead over Biden to about 87k. #gapol
If Biden manages to flip Georgia, this @nytimes map shows how Democrats pulled it off: They held court in urban counties and turned suburban and exurban counties a deeper shade of blue compared with four years ago. #gapol

Here’s why some pundits are predicting Georgia to tilt blue later today: Trump has a roughly 104k lead over Biden but the counties with ballots remaining to be tallied include some of biggest - & most populous - D strongholds: Dougherty, DeKalb, Chatham, Bibb, Richmond. #gapol
There are plenty of votes outstanding in R counties too — I’m looking at you, Jeff Davis County - but aside from Houston County they are smaller, rural places without a lot of votes to give. I asked a top Georgia Dem an estimate of how many Dem votes were left. A: Enough. #gapol

The @nytimes needle has moved and some at the Georgia GOP party are quietly taking note. The reason why? DeKalb is starting to come in, giving Democrats a net 100k gain. #gapol
As of 1:20A, Trump has a 240k vote lead over Biden in Georgia — and much of DeKalb, as well as portions of Gwinnett, Cobb and Fulton — remain outstanding. #gapol
Most of DeKalb is now in - and it helped Biden considerably narrow the gap. He now trails Trump by about 120k votes in Georgia, with still more to be counted in left-leaning metro Atlanta counties. #gapol
