Black voters in PA, WI, MI, GA & Latino voters in AZ & NV ended the Trump presidency
It was Black voters in Philly, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Flint, Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Atlanta, Savannah & Latino voters in Las Vegas, Reno, Phoenix, Tucson that saved Joe Biden & the country
Massive turnout can overcome massive suppression
That said we should never have another election like this one. The outrageous voter suppression efforts by Trump & GOP must never be normalized. High turnout happened in spite of these barriers. We need a new Voting Rights Act & national/state laws making it easier to vote
A huge shout out to Native American voters in states like AZ
Muslim & Arab voters also made a big difference in states like MI, GA & AZ
Asian-American vote was critically important. Thank you for reminding me @Grace4NY

They gutted the Voting Rights Act

They sabotaged the Postal Service

They closed polling places, purged voter rolls, attacked mail voting, tried to throw out ballots

And yet voters turned out in record numbers to overcome these barriers & make their voices heard
Massive turnout can defeat massive suppression

Now we need to keep increasing the turnout and get rid of the suppression
Thank you to all the activists, organizers, lawyers, poll workers, election officials, postal workers & everyone else who worked so hard under very difficult conditions so people would be able to vote

And all the journalists who reported the truth to counteract the darkness

Trump's desperate lawsuits won't stop votes from being counted or change results. They're already being struck down

Hearing now with Judge Emmet Sullivan on USPS refusing to comply with court order to allow last-minute sweeps for mail ballots yesterday

"I’m not pleased about this 11th hour development last night and someone may have a price to pay" he says
Judge Sullivan tells DOJ lawyers the failure to do court ordered sweep for mail ballots yesterday starts "at the top of the food chain" presumably implicating Louis DeJoy
Judge Sullivan says Louis DeJoy will have to testify under oath in his courtroom

Lawyer for @NAACP_LDF says they may seek contempt of court motion against DeJoy next week if USPS continues to not follow court orders

Biggest issue I've heard about so far is voting machines down in Spalding County GA, south of Atlanta. Election officials sending 2,000 provisional ballots to each precinct so everyone can vote on paper ballot. Everyone in line by 7 will be able to vote wsbtv.com/news/politics/…

-24/7 voting

Many reporters, including me, attempting to listen to federal court hearing on whether to invalidate 127,000 drive-thru votes in Harris County TX

Press line was disconnected with hearing in progress & no reporters let in courtroom. This is huge case & we can't even cover it
I am on the call now. Stand by for updates
I missed beginning of hearing b/c we couldn't listen in but one reporter who got in notes conservative judge seems skeptical of throwing votes out
