BREAKING: @FOXNashville retracts report accusing @JohnCooper4Nash of a cover-up in reporting #COVID19 numbers for Nashville bars. "We don't have evidence of a cover-up and apologize for the error." This after @DonaldJTrumpJr and @TuckerCarlson made the story go viral.
Now, when you go to the original story online, this is what you get:
And, people, STOP asking me: "what about the emails?" As I posted here repeatedly, they took them out of context. The story was clearly bogus. It is now time to admit it.

For those breathlessly tweeting at me about another reporter's "bombshell" and the "disturbing" COVID-19 emails from Mayor Cooper, the emails do NOT say what the reporter implied. There is nothing about "how to keep it from the public." 1/
Take, for example, the reporter's gasping at this exchange: “This isn’t going to be publicly released, right? Just info for Mayor’s Office?"
“Correct, not for public consumption.”
Under HIPAA, info that might identify individuals must be vetted carefully b/f release to public 2/
