Even within each movement, there are layers of marginalization that needed to be addressed. For ex. dalit bahujan agri-workers within a land acquisition project. We need to reflect more on why movements are becoming restricted to certain sections and not becoming more broad based

@amaringanti is speaking on the encroachment of lakes which has led to the recent flooding in Hyderabad. People who are affected have no voice and decisions are taken in the interest of big capital.

Syed Bilal from @HRF talks about how residents of hyderabad affected by the flood were helped by the civil society and govt didn't take responsibility. Some areas are still under water and need urgent help.

He is also speaking of how the rich don't get affected or displaced, but it is the poor and marginalized who always face the brunt. We need permanent solutions in terms of #safehousing

Some people got 10k as rehabilitation in some areas. In some areas people living in even 3rd floor are getting money. But officials are mismanaging money with sharing money between officials and people after they share OTP with officials.

There is a crisis of bureaucracy, the routine works also don't happen well -this has come out starkly in the lack of acknowledgement of farm crisis in the midst of the recent floods. The govt has halted the PM phasal bheema yojana this year. All this is causing immense suffering.

Kiran also raises an important issue as to why government can't conduct enumeration of crop loss and compensate, when small, resource-less people's organizations can conduct quick field surveys

Violations have happened during land acquisition. Amendments were brought in the 2013 Act in 2016, to ensure that govt can smoothly acquire land.

The problems of transpersons have increased in covid times. Livelihood is a persistent challenge. And state atrocities add to the woes.
