Detectives deterring an armed robbery today recovered a Beretta pistol after a shootout with a three-man gang that left one of the gang members fatally injured.
Several sim cards and three ID cards belonging to different people formed part of the recoveries made from the gunned down suspect.

Acting on a tip-off from members of the public, DCI detectives based at Thika West and the Special Service Unit (SSU) intercepted the gang...
...between Thika's Makongeni-Kiganjo estate and Engen.

The three were reportedly targeting a factory within the area.

On being challenged to surrender, two of the suspects drew pistols and started shooting indiscriminately.
Two fled on foot while one advanced towards the officers spraying bullets on their cover, triggering the self-defense measure that left him lifeless.

Efforts are being made to nab the suspects who fled.

The 21-year-old Rashid Barasa Omari preys, pounces and later coerces his victims who he fishes from the comments section appearing on Tour and Travel advertisements.

Omari presents himself as a person capable of sponsoring his victims to the advertised destinations. Image
Instead, he lures them to lodgings in Nairobi after sending them bus fare, then robs them off their valuables before disappearing to his hideout.

Goods valued at millions of shillings and a Lorry belonging to a local manufacturing company that had been stolen while on transit along Mombasa Highway have been recovered.
The vehicle's driver made a report that he had stopped along the way at Makindu to answer to a call of nature when robbers ambushed him and drove away with the lorry.

However, he gave a contradicting statement to his employer, claiming that he had been attacked by robbers...
...wielding crude weapons who carjacked him along with the goods at Makindu and dropped him at Maungu area in Taita Taveta County before driving away.

Two suspects linked to the heinous murder of a man whose body was recovered along Mai Mahiu Road in Narok County were arrested yesterday by a team of @DCI_Kenya Detectives based at Naivasha.
The two; 29-year-old David Salun Nago and 20-year-old Saitoti Sego Ole Munak were nabbed in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County after detectives launched an investigation into the matter.
Intelligence-led information took DCI detectives to the suspects’ houses where upon thorough search two bloodstained Jackets were recovered and kept as exhibit awaiting DNA analysis.

The suspects remain in lawful custody as further police action is sought.

Three members of a criminal syndicate operating in the Coastal region that has been stealing hired cars after posing as genuine customers were yesterday arrested in Kilifi & Kajiado by Mombasa- based @DCI_Kenya detectives, & a Toyota Axio that was stolen two months ago recovered. ImageImageImage
Pursuing a case where the victim hired his KCT 250T Toyota Axio on 26th July, 2020 to one of the suspects; George Morara Aboki for three days but who disappeared since, detectives established that the syndicate was tampering with the car tracking gadgets before disposing them...
...in Tanzania via the Namanga border.

In the intelligence-led operation, 42-yr-old John Kimani & Pacificah Kemunto Nyakundi aged 39yrs were also arrested being accomplices of the 50-yr-old George Morara.

Following a tip-off from members of the public, two MPESA fraudsters who have been terrorizing residents of Machakos County & it’s environs have been nabbed by a combined team of @PoliceKE and @DCI_Kenya detectives based at Machakos. Image
The two suspects; 23-year-old Kevin Sagini Oroko and 27-year-old Dominic Otiso Nyabuto were apprehended from their hideout at Miwani Estate within Machakos town.

Upon carrying thorough search in one of the suspect’s house, the following items were recovered & kept as exhibits:- Image

96 Kenyan national Identity Cards bearing different names.

Three Robbery w/Violence suspects who have been terrorizing Kapseret bodaboda operators in Uasin Gishu County were last night arrested & three motorcycles recovered at Soy Likuyani following a swift pursuit on them after they attacked and robbed a victim, leaving him unconscious. Image
On gaining consciousness, the victim, whose motorcycle Reg. no. KMFA 484W was robbed after the gang of four armed with machetes attacked him at Berur area, alerted the police who jointly with members of the public pursued the suspects with the aid of a tracker fixed on the bike.
The three suspects; Zedrick Mulama, Robert Safari and Silas Lugalia were all cornered and arrested at Soy, and upon rigorous search three motorcycles Reg. nos. KMEW 297D, KMFA 484W & KMEW 390U were also recovered.
