he has a billion dollars in debt guaranteed by himself. he needs to maintain power to have some leverage to either renegotiate it, or have the debt purchased but another group with more favorable terms to avoid losing some of his assets.
Whomever gets to own Trump's billion + personal debt will have HUGE leverage on him. Trump's brand is everything to him and watching his assets taken away from him is his nightmare scenario. Imagine what he could do for better financing terms using a democracy...
.. with a trillion $ a year military.... and presidential power, they can make him do ANYTHING.
