I am now going to livetweet @RudyGiuliani's election "analysis" video. It's part of the "Rudy's Common Sense" broadcasts he's been doing on Youtube. Join me for this adventure!
Rudy's election analysis video has ads, so he is profiting from all this.
In case you want to dive in to the messy questions surrounding how Rudy is (or isn't) paid for his Trump legal work, here's a deep dive on it that @nycsouthpaw and I wrote. google.com/amp/s/news.yah…
"I'm not a baby." - Rudy Giuliani
Rudy is wearing his Yankees Workd Series ring and a gold pinky ring as he argues Trump actually won.
Rudy claims CNN "still hasn't called Virginia for Biden" and says "only Fox did." That's a lie.
Rudy's now just listing states that "certainly should have been called" for Trump including Georgia and North Carolina. He's saying Georgia "should" have been called with 78% of the count because Trump was leading then. There is no real logic to that other than Rudy's desires.
"If you had called all those states that should have been called, he'd have been just a little bit shy of the 270." This is actually true in the sense that, yes, if they gave Trump all the states that Rudy randomly declared him the winner of, then he would indeed be doing well.
I really hope you're all watching Rudy's video with me. It's very special.
Rudy is pointing out that many polls were very wrong, which they were. As he makes this case, he argued Democrats "did not take the Senate." We don't actually know who has the Senate yet.
Rudy "Just think of what Fox did to us by calling Virginia early. ... How many votes did tbey suppress in Virginia?" Fox made their Virginia call after 7pm, which is when polls were closed in the state.
Wow! Rudy acknowledged this mistake. "I'm sorry, I don't think you could vote any more in Virginia, but in other parts of the country there's still a lot of voting left," he said. Apology was solid. The logic behind the idea a Virginia call would dampen turnout elsewhere was not.
There are still twelve more minutes of this. Pray for me.
Rudy started rubbing his eye with his middle finger delivering a nice "fuck you" to his audience.
Big Rudy energy here.
Rudy is now raging about Fox News' Arizona call: "It had an impact on the psychology of this, which pushed all the networks ... to kind of leave out calling the Trump states." He says they started saying "Let's call Biden. Let's get him to 270." NBC still hasn't called Arizona.
And Fox and other networks called multiple red states after Arizona including Ohio. Of course, Biden still isn't at 270. So basically nothing in that rant from Rudy was remotely true.
After making his utterly false accusation of a conspiracy behind the Arizona call, Rudy cut to a commercial break. Got to get paid!
"The only folks to trust that I know of to protect your home's title is Home Title Lock." - Rudy Giuliani during a commercial break in his legal work for the president
The company Rudy is advertising during his effort to argue Trump won the election has a customer review rating of two out of five stars on the Better Business Bureau's website. Not great! bbb.org/us/ca/san-dieg…
Also Rudy's title fraud commercial, which was pretaped, was ungrammatical. He should have said "are" not "is." He might want to cut that one again.
Now back from his commercial break, Rudy has declared, "Pennsylvania is Trump's. If, for any reason that vote total changes, it has to be a fraud." Biden is currently leading in Pennsylvania, which has not yet been called.
Rudy says there's "so much evidence of fraud already in Pennsylvania." Let's see if he details any of it!
Rudy says Trump "may very well get 125,000 votes disqualified" in Pennsylvania because his observers were not allowed in. Observers from both parties *were* present for the count. Trump's team wanted to be closer and got a court order saying they could stand six feet away.
Rudy's now citing a bunch of wild numbers about PA. He claims Trump had a 135,000 vote lead there. Trump is currently behind.
Rudy has a big black stain on his finger.
I zoomed in on Rudy's evidence in his election "analysis" video. It seems to be a hand scrawled collection of random numbers.
On he also is implying there's some kind of conspiracy in the fact states are called with different amounts of their votes counted. That's part of how projections, which are dependent on geography, work. He also says Trump won Georgia, which has not been called yet.
Rudy is now shouting about North Carolina: "They're not calling it! Tell me they're not corrupt!"
And now a second commercial break. I have seen four ads on @RudyGiuliani's defense of the president, where he has accused others of corruption.
.@RudyGiuliani says Famous Smoke Shop has "the best" cigars. This is not true. They don't sell Cubans.
More of Rudy's "evidence." Another page of hand scrawled numbers and names of states. He also needs to cut his nails.
Rudy is tying his election conspiracy to Hillary's emails, Ukraine, and Hunter Biden's laptop. He says the laptop makes "the whole Ukrainian immigration thing - oh I'm sorry - the whole Ukrainian impeachment thing a complete farce." "Now we're into phase three or four," he said.
Rudy is repeating false claims that people have "found" ballots and erroneously added them in. He says these ballots were not cast by "real voters." "They were cast by some Democrat sitting in a backroom," Rudy said, whispering and making sounds.
Rudy says he has an affidavit from a GOP election observer in Philly who was "kept in a room for 21 hours" unable to see ballots. This is the only thing he has cited on this video that could remotely be described as evidence.
After declaring victory for Trump, Rudy says he will be back "in a few days with another Rudy's Common Sense" broadcast. I can't wait!
I am so glad you asked friend! I have repeatedly reached out to @RudyGiuliani including multiple tomes today and asked if he can show me any of his evidence. He hasn't responded for some reason! I'd love to see it.
There's an important and serious point to make here. We are witnessing an authoritarian attempt to undermine the democratic process by falsely challenging this election. It has not worked.
The safeguards our democracy has in place from the poll workers and state officials from both parties and the media have stood up strongly against these false attempts to subvert the election.
This is something people of all views should be proud of. That being said, this attempt was uniquely hamfisted. A future effort to reject an American election could be more sophisticated.
A former Trump adviser tells me Rudy Giuliani was driving the strategy of declaring premature victory since his "principle is possession is 99% of ownership."
The former Trump adviser said Pam Bondi, Corey Lewandowski and Rudy Giuliani are "literally the wrong team" to have in front of legal challenges since "it makes it lack credibility."
The former adviser said Trump is relying the trio of Bondi, Lewandowski, and Giuliani since he implicitly trusts their loyalty. "He knows those guys never fucking leak and if they do leak it's never to make him look bad," the ex-adviser said.
The scattershot nature of the Trump team's comments and legal challenges to the election have caused speculation about what litigation he hopes to pursue and what allies are behind him. I have a couple answers to that though this is all fast moving and it's hard to be definitive.
A source familiar with the Trump team's legal strategy tells me there main Supreme Court litigation is the case about the Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision that granted a three day extension letting officials there count some mailed ballots received up to tomorrow
Jay Sekulow, who has a winning Supreme Court record and helped lead the successful impeachment defense is the attorney of record for the Trump campaign in that case.
Glenn Greenwald repeatedly misspelled both Tony Bobulinski and Lesley Stahl's names in the column that he was so upset to have edited. greenwald.substack.com/p/article-on-j…
There are many, many other problems with this piece that are more serious (though less amusing) than that typo.
A big issue is that it completely ignores the major issues with the New York Post's reporting including that Rudy Giuliani contradicted himself in his explanation of what happened with the alleged laptop.
The other day I saw one of our great neighborhood restaurants, an Indian spot named Rajaji, had put fliers all over the block letting people know they were open again and doing takeout.
It really got me because it was just so clear that this was a business working to get their customers back and survive this awful moment.
I ordered from them tonight and the food was delivered by someone from the restaurant. He thanked me and told me to enjoy the meal.
