I just talked to a source with access to Twitter's internal data who told me that the @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk conversation "was a negligible event with a small crowd." I was able to verify this source had access to the data.

According to my source, the "conversation" with Musk and Trump "didn't even match the normal morning traffic" on Twitter.

"It was a ten percent bump over the normal afternoon or evening traffic," they said.

The Iraq War was actually a major part of how I ended up @TPM.

Back in early 2004, I was a sophomore at @wheaton.

The legendary Texan columnist Molly Ivins came to speak at the school. Her talk was heavily focused on her critical reporting on Bush and the war. Journalism was not a big thing at our school. I already knew I wanted to be a reporter and was incredibly excited that one was coming to visit the school — especially such a uniquely clear voice on the Bush administration at a time when that was rare.

What I honestly can't understand about the anti-trans movement is why anyone would be fundamentally concerned about how someone else chooses to view or express their gender? They can make it all sound reasonable and like they're standing up for women until you step back and realize they are simply mad about another person's choices.

I literally just quoted you at length. It doesn't need any complex interpretation. Your hateful fear was crystal clear. One thing modern racist pseudointellectuals like to do when challenged on their awful, hareful arguments is completely backpedal by pretending there is oh so much complexity, uniqueness, and nuance behind their variation of saying people of color are dangerous and bad.

The Plain Dealer and USA Today have done this. It seems @WashPostPR @BostonGlobe and @chicagotribune have not. The Plain Dealer's editor said, "This is not a difficult decision."

It really shouldn't be. cleveland.com/news/2023/02/w…

I somehow fell down the rabbit hole of this site with absolutely weird charity offerings. This one is particularly nuts. charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/… @nycsouthpaw would you like a steak with a side of Glomar?

Their "plan" is a bigger PR team. I have a better idea. Shout out to my elder millennial weirdos

So, @ErikWemple just published this shoddy piece calling some of my Rolling Stone pieces on January 6 "scandalous." Let me walk you through the issues with his story, which fundamentally mischaracterizes my work and misunderstands/ignores the evidence. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/… First off, let's start with the headline. His headline is fundamentally inaccurate. Rolling Stone never "said" burner phones were used by J6 organizers. From the beginning we characterized this as a claim from sources. Check out this original headline. rollingstone.com/politics/polit…

So, one of the previously unreported messages in our latest #TheMeadowsTexts drop is from Rudy's reported girlfriend, Maria Ryan, who says Trump "asked for some talking points" ahead of a rally speech in January 2021. talkingpointsmemo.com/feature/meadow… The talking points Rudy's girlfriend crafted for Trump were a 1,429-word rant arguing the electjon was "a direct assault on the American people.” talkingpointsmemo.com/feature/meadow…

In previously unreported texts, @MoBrooks sent Mark Meadows claims that @replouiegohmert and @RepRickAllen were warned "ANTIFI" had been in the 1/6 crowd. talkingpointsmemo.com/feature/meadow… As people who have been keeping up with #TheMeadowsTexts know, both Rick Allen and Louie Gohmert were active participants in the election challenge. talkingpointsmemo.com/feature/rep-ri…

As I wait for the next Meadows text drop to post, I want to take a moment to shout out the @TPM team that is busting ass to make this story happen ... I just came back to @TPM less than a month ago and I am so glad I did. It was always a great site but @joshtpm @TPM_dk and @JRagazzo have really taken it to a whole other level

Rep. Rick Allen in #TheMeadowsTexts: "The source that is feeding my source some voter fraud information contacted me directly." talkingpointsmemo.com/feature/rep-ri… The information from @RepRickAllen's "source" seemed to be an evidence-free YouTube video from Romania and a news article from 2005. Still, Allen's ideas made their way directly to Trump's Twitter account during the 2020 Georgia runoff. talkingpointsmemo.com/feature/rep-ri…

Since @tedcruz is here in the Bronx rooting against my Yankees, I figured it would be a good time to share his January 6 text messages with Mark Meadows ... I have obtained the text message log Mark Meadows provided to the January 6 select committee and verified it from multiple sources. Based on the log, Cruz coordinated his January 6 election objection with Meadows.

Ahhh. The king of bad faith is here! That explains the bunch of people parroting his nonsense in the mentions. Obviously, I am talking about public facilities over asking the government to bust in peoples' homes. Also, thinking about places that have more jobs for people than a seasonal beach community in the fall.

Man, it's almost as if Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman should have agreed to @TheJudge44's terms ahead of the season.

These two continually make the most obvious mistakes while thinking very highly of themselves. He is going to cost even more now and these buffoons in the @YankeesPR front office better give the man every penny.

The idea that people were "deported" from Martha's Vineyard has is one of the most bad faith partisan misinformation campaigns I have seen in a long while. It's an island! There's limited space and resources. They were moved nearby to another wealthy area, but it was one with more facilities. No one was "deported" or shunned from Massachusetts.

I believe I have identified three of the people in yesterday's Trump golf course photo and I actually think this relatively innocuous explanation holds up. Yet another lesson in not breathlessly speculating or repeating things partisans are sharing on Twitter. How many #resistance experts were sending out tweets with supposedly knowing commentary on the mob and lawyers?

Back in April, a law enforcement source told me that they heard DC Metropolitan Police officers affiliated with the presidential motorcade share a story of Trump demanding to be drive to the Capitol and getting into an altercation with Secret Service on January 6. I heard this story months before Cassidy Hutchinson went public with these allegations. I believed the story to be credible at the time because of the source. I am withholding their name due to their position.

I have been off Twitter for a bit as I work on writing projects, but in the past few days, I noticed a flood of crazy, angry messages coming in to my various inboxes. What might have happened? Why would people be randomly targeting me with vitriol and harassment? Well, apparently @tuckercarlson did a segment about me on Monday.
