1) We all know Dems were heavily pushing Absentee Ballots - as they have for many years.
In April, Pelosi was pushing "for a vote-by-mail provision in Congress' next coronavirus relief package." nbcnews.com/politics/congr…
2) The Dem controlled House tried to push an amendment to a "2002 law known as the Help America Vote Act to make a sworn signature sufficient proof to vote on election day in all states."
3) The rationale behind the recent push was, of course, COVID.
But in late August, some "concerns" supposedly began:
"Black and Latino voters consistently voice more discomfort and uncertainty about voting by mail" politico.com/news/2020/08/2…
4) Dems began to back away from Mail-In-Voting w/a new concern.
9-25-20:
"The move away from mail-in absentee voting comes amid major liabilities in new mail-in voting systems that could jeopardize Democrats’ election chances in contests that are close." washingtonexaminer.com/news/democrats…
5) Which is somewhat odd, given that most Mail-In-Ballets had already gone out.
6) On Sept. 30, 2020 an article from the Atlantic, suddenly arguing against mail-in-voting, seemed almost remarkably prescient. theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…
7) Describing the newly perceived risks from a strategy Dems HAD been relentlessly pushing:
"In the second scenario, Biden wins the popular vote by closer to four points. By the end of Election Night, swing states such as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are too close to call."
8) Cont: "In the following weeks, conspiracy theories about fraudulent votes and counter-theories about voter suppression take over both parties’ social-media feeds. Republican lawyers invalidate tens of thousands of mail-in ballots because of minor violations."
9) And closing by arguing for In-Person voting:
"The coronavirus does not seem to spread effectively among quiet, masked people in grocery lines, or voting lines. If you are committed to voting this November, but on the fence about how to do so, do it in person."
10) The entirety of this election stinks.
I would like to see an auditing of the federal $ given to PA and other states.
Money given because of COVID fears and the "need" for Mail-In-Voting.
"The technical side of this election, the electronic voting, there's probably some problems there and they're going to find those out...What happened was when the votes didn't get to the numbers that they needed, now they come in with the mail-in-ballots."
Gen Flynn (cont): "I believe they are going to find mail-in-ballot problems like we already have seen, that were after the fact to get to the numbers to achieve a victory...I pray that I'm wrong, but that's my gut following a lot of information and a lot of insight."
Dems pushed mail-in-ballots until late Sept. They suddenly switched to pushing in-person voting.
Might be worth examining spending by PA of proceeds from Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Grant Fund ($17.1mm) & HAVA Election Security Grant Fund ($18.2mm).
County proceeds ($6mm & $7mm) distributed by Kathy Boockvar on 4/27 & 4/28 respectively. dos.pa.gov/VotingElection…
Use of proceeds is vague.
$6mm from Grant Fund:
"including but not limited to voter notifications and education, increased costs related to mail-in and absentee voting..."
1) Reminder: ~Feb. 4, 2014, Victoria Nuland & Geoffrey Pyatt discussed the ouster of Ukrainian President Yanukovych and installation of opposition leader Yatsenyuk as PM.
Then-Vice President Biden was referenced as perhaps being willing to help cement the changeover in Ukraine.
2) On Feb. 22, 2014, Yanukovych was removed as president of Ukraine and fled to Russia.
On Feb. 27, 2014, Yatsenyuk, the candidate favored by Nuland, was installed as prime minister of Ukraine.
3) In April 2014, Joe Biden would get personally involved in Ukraine, as would his son, Hunter.
Based on this nice catch by @smc12256 it seems more likely that @AndrewCMcCarthy guess of May 2018 was accurate meaning the call took place during the tenure of Geoffrey Berman.
Current "requirements can make removing poorly performing employees difficult. Only a quarter of Federal supervisors are confident that they could remove a poor performer."
"Career employees in confidential, policy-determining, policy‑making, and policy-advocating positions wield significant influence over Government operations and effectiveness."
Igor Danchenko, Steele's "Primary Sub-Source" for the discredited dossier has given an interview to Luke Harding - the same UK journalist used by Steele to promote the dossier. theguardian.com/us-news/2020/o…
Immediately, there are some problems.
Danchenko on his dossier work: "I stand by it."
As to the salacious allegations made re: Moscow’s Ritz-Carlton hotel. “I got it right,” say Denchenko in the interview.
He adds: “I stand by my raw intelligence.”
Danchenko told a differing version to the FBI, as noted in IG Horowitz's FISA Abuse Report (P. 187): justice.gov/storage/120919…
