It's not for me to assign people jobs, but I do have a suggestion for @SteveSchmidtSES - he should head up some campaign to clean the Republican stables of Trumpism, to support and elect anti-Trump GOP in primaries, to encourage and advocate for the prosecution of admin crimes
Not the crime of different politics, but the crimes of inurement, accepting bribes, directing contracts to friends, family, and so on. Real crimes. Not thought crimes.

He could even call it Hercules' Struggle or the Augean Cleaning Crew, whatever.
You see, getting rid of Trump does not get rid of Trumpism and the @ProjectLincoln has a lot of work ahead if they hope to rehabilitate their party. Otherwise, they should form a centrist party that marginalizes the Trumpists, but I think they should at least try to take GOP back
And then they need a big come-to-Jesus debate and reconciliation over their party's open welcome of white supremacy for three generations.
I mean all white people have been open to white supremacy for hundreds of years, but the GOP has openly and covertly courted white supremacists since the Lily Whites purged the Black and Tans.

So what is Phone In Fika? It's right after the futures broadcast when the farmers take their mid-morning break. It begins with the sound of pouring coffee and the question, "What are you seeng this beautiful morning?"
And then Mom would call in and say she saw two blue jays fighting a squirrel. Then AB, a neighbor, would say he saw some timber wolves drinking at Spring Lake. And the day would begin with lots of reports of flora and fauna. The moccasin flowers are blooming...etc.
And someone might call in to report who won the Round Robin Whist tournament the night before. And then another would call to share their in-laws are coming for a week, or they have a new granddaughter, etc. etc. Two hours of chit chat by phone.

If we care about the white people who are our neighbors, classmates, and relatives, we have to speak to them about racism and how they express it. You cannot treat pneumonia with throat lozenges. You cannot cure racism by diagnosing it as economic anxiety.
Really, let's talk about economic anxiety. Immediately after the election, people thought economic growth was bigger, unemployment was lower, and the economy overall was healthier. Trump had not even taken office. In two weeks, without doing a thing, people's perception changed
Economic anxiety was racism rooted in fear of Black hands steering the economy and just knowing a new driver would take the next shift reduced economic anxiety immediately.

Do you want to hear a funny story? This happened last night and I laughed until my back started hurting and then kept laughing anyway.

It starts in the AM. I was opening a new bag of kitty litter. It was heavy, I let it rest on the toilet seat while I used scissors to open it
The scissors broke at the rivet and fell in the toilet. I fished them out. And threw them away. So then...

Last night, a friend came over and we watched TV. I figure it's okay for her to visit since we both had COVID.
She goes to pee, flushes, hollers there is something in the bottom of the toilet. A square. I thought I guess the scissors broke into three pieces so I said don't worry, I will fish it out later.

I think one thing we must never forget. The media will never ever ever be on our side. They will only be as liberal as the billionaires and multinationals that own them. I think the best example of the craven media is Travelgate - a long-forgotten Clinton "scandal."
The White House travel office was sloppily managed. The director wrote checks to cash. He deposited media payments for travel on AF1 into his own bank account. He commingled personal and travel office money. There was a report from FBI.
So they were fired. The media went on a feeding frenzy defending the man who commingled money. OF course, they did. He was slopping about requiring them to pay for their travel on AFI, so they sometimes got reimbursed by their company & didn't pay travel office. Nice deal

If the SC overturns the ACA. Dems must convene to draft a new ACA, addressing the glitches that allowed them to overturn the individual mandate. They need to include clear and precise legislative intent language so the Justices cannot infer an intent that was clearly never there
It should be ready to go on their first day. Introduce it at Noon on January 3rd. Yes, I know it's a Sunday. The GOP worked on Sunday to dismantle democracy, we can work on Sunday to restore it. The Senate should pass it quickly, sending it to the President's desk at 1 pm on 1/20
Signing it could be among the first acts of Biden's administration, but that's not all. They should also pass a new Voting Rights Act that mandates no more than 60 minutes wait time to vote, restores felon voting rights nationally, see Hillary's bills...

In 2010, the single player or die folks encouraged people to boycott the Democrats in the election. A by selection, no big deal. Ed Schultz on MSNBC rides that hobby horse with nodding support from BS, MM, and the rest of the stupid left.
The GOP took the House, Senate, and state houses across the country. The stupid left loved to remind us that Dems lost over 1000 seats across the country. They claimed credit for that, even in 2016. But that was a decent url election, determining redistricting.
We've paid the cost for a decade. Part of that cost is three seats on the Supreme Court. Never listen to someone telling you to give up your only power in a democracy - your vote. They are either stupid, evil, or both
