In light of recent events, here’s a thread that explains how important it is to support male victims (abuse, sexual harassment, etc.) who decide to speak up about it. I will be focusing on actors Brendan Fraser and Johnny Depp

I’m sure by now everyone knows about most of the details in Johnny Depp’s case and it’s just so upsetting when some of you decide to dismiss or ignore them like imagine if he was your dad, brother, friend, husband or whoever else would you still be silent? #JusticeForJohnnyDepp

Also this is not a conspiracy theory and the support everyone is showing him is not because he’s a handsome rich famous person! there are FACTS, WITNESSES, AND EVIDENCE that show he’s the victim
And Amber is the abuser #justiceforjohnnydepp

and it is important for the public (aka you, me and everyone else) to speak up about it just like the #freebritney movement when everyone was calling us insane and that it’s all a conspiracy but look at her case now when more of us supported her case

Ok so let’s start with actor Brendan Fraser, who was everyone’s crush back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Y’all may know him from movies such as the mummy trilogy, George of the jungle, blast from the past and Encino Man and so many other very well-known movies

And if you haven’t seen any of his movies ... like are you serious? School ties? No? Not even airheads? EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES? Crash? Wooow ... anyways I recommend all of his movies tbh go watch them

So the reason why I’m mentioning his movies is because he was in a lot of them, from 1991 to 2008 only he acted in over 40 movies and tv shows. And let me tell you something, when most of them require over the top stunts and action 40 is A LOT!

Brendan said in one of his interviews that during the filming of the third mummy movie he was literally put together with tape and ice

So this young and healthy looking man’s body started to fall apart because of all the exhaustion and overworking, doing all the stunts and going from set to set and for the next seven years he was in and out of the hospital

For various serious procedures such as laminectomy (TWICE), knee replacements, procedures on his back and even repairing his vocal cords

He also went through a divorce and the death of his mother around the same time, all of these events in his life affected him just like it would affect anybody else both physically and mentally, He also suffered from depression.

The public and the media were NOT nice about it as you can imagine

And because of all of this he was getting no movie deals and was running out of money with all the hospital expenses and stuff that he had to pay for

And at some point he was even expected to make no more movies so no more money which is why
He also had some issues with his alimony and child support payments

He did get movie deals tho but still he wasn’t the same as before

from 2016-2017 he was on 6 episodes of the hit tv show “The Affair” in which he did an interview for after not doing one for so long. And people noticed how different he was and how sad he seemed

and what did everyone do? What they always do :) made stupid memes and made fun of him for the likes and for the fun of it! Remember this stupid meme ?

And this is what Brendan was like in interviews before all of these incidents

Yes all celebs have memes made about them but for Brendan it went too far! People made memes telling him to kill himself cause he was depressed and was running out of money! Like this gif

But there was still more, in 2018 with an interview with GQ for the first time “publicly” Brendan told the story of when he was sexually assaulted by the former president of the Hollywood foreign press association “Philip Berk”

This has been known for a while but Brendan never talked about it publicly himself and Philip dismissed it and The reason why he was silent for so long he said was because he was scared of humiliation or damage to his career

And he was right because he did lose many movie deals including the sequels to movies he was known for and was the star of such as the mummy which was given to Tom cruise and Journey to the center of the earth which was given to Dwayne Johnson

We know the public are just dumb making memes instead of supporting him but the reason his peers, the media and other celebs didn’t speak up was because major newspapers, magazines, publishers, television and radio broadcasters are under the Hollywood foreign press association

And who was the president of the HFPA at the time? Philip Berk! They are also in charge of hosting major award shows like the golden globes so obviously no one will speak up to defend a victim in fear of ruining their own careers

Brendan is such a sweetheart all he wants is to shoot arrows in his cowboy hat and be with his sons and horses, he did not deserve all of this and everyone should support his work because he FUCKING DESERVES LOVE AND SUPPORT LIKE RIGHT NOWWWWWW

Ok so how is Brendan’s case related to Johnny Depp? We are now seeing the same treatment Brendan got when he spoke up on Johnny who also went public with his story

Johnny Depp has now lost two of his major roles in movies that are ONLY as big because he was in them

It’s like society has decided that it doesn’t make sense for men to be victims! And when they do speak up society decides to shame them and bring them down

We need to ignore all the stupid shit the media is saying about Johnny and show all the support we can.
We know that speaking up and defending victims work because look at how we brought the #FreeBritney movement to the public and the media
