LIVE NOW: Inc.'s @britnmorse is speaking with @hint founder and CEO @karagoldin. In this #IncRealTalk, learn practices for leading a team, and discover how to overcome both your own self-doubts and the skepticism of others. Watch: on.inc.com/1pykqqu
On pivoting during #Covid19: "Because we came from a place of being scrappy and going and getting it done, we were able to react every quickly," says @karagoldin. "The business for this year is up almost 300 percent." Goldin says @hint's DTC business is almost double this year.
Goldin says @hint focuses on sustainability by sourcing locally. "We’ve always wanted to use local fruit and people as much as possible. Having everything as local as possible is not only the right thing to do, it’s better as a business overall." @karagoldin #IncRealTalk
Goldin reached out to distributors when @hint products were deemed essential. "If you actually know the vocabulary, you can be helpful to a lot of these distributors," says @karagoldin. "When you can be a resource for people, that’s actually helpful to your sales." #IncRealTalk
On lessons learned in the 2008 recession: "You’ve got to figure out what's best for your business and don’t be afraid to articulate your concerns. Living with fear is no way to live, but it ends up that it’s no way to actually build a business either." #IncRealTalk @karagoldin
How @karagoldin overcomes doubt: "I take it slow and I learn from my failures. You just keep getting up and you just keep going. You recognize your small wins and that’s what gives you the courage and the energy to keep moving it forward." #IncRealTalk
Goldin: "How do we solve problems? Not just for customers--around products that aren't out there and just do them better. My goal is not to launch 2,000 SKUs, it's really to take on these challenges that I see every single day." @karagoldin #IncRealTalk
Advice for raising money during the pandemic: “Understanding your story really well on what has worked and what you want to use the money for," says @karagoldin. "I think just being able to really be approachable and having an understanding of what your needs are." #IncRealTalk
"If you believe in yourself first that you can just go try, then I believe you can ultimately go do anything. None of this is beyond me. It just takes a lot of reminders to yourself, but if you actually go out and try, you can actually accomplish a lot." @karagoldin #IncRealTalk

To celebrate this #VeteransDay, here’s a feature about how Army veteran Frank Diaz started @TinHutBBQ, a food truck business that has become a lifeline to other vets. inc.com/leigh-buchanan…
Since @TinHutBBQ's launch 7 years ago, it has employed 65 veterans or veterans' family members, accounting for roughly a quarter of the workforce. Diaz has helped many of those in their struggles with PTSD and addiction. Image
Diaz's other priority is to provide active and retired service members with the kind of food he associates with relaxed good times. Image

Today's virtual Town Hall is starting at 12pm! If you registered for the event, tune in to hear @Inc's @weisul and @USChamber's @NeilBradleyDC discuss the latest news on the $2 trillion stimulus package. Follow this thread for updates. #SmallBizTownHall
The paycheck protection program will be available to small businesses under 500 employees. It’s $350 billion in loans designed to help business owners cover payroll for 8 weeks--and the loan can be forgiven. #SmallBizTownHall
The interest rate was less than 4%, then 0.5%, now 1%. Will the interest rate change again? "It’s not a final regulation," says @NeilBradleyDC, the @USChamber chief policy officer. There's a possibility it will change again, he says. #SmallBizTownHall
