My uncle, in his 80s, lived thru Papa Doc & Baby Doc regimes in Haiti; he said during Thanksgiving last year that Trump was a dictator and he was not leaving the White House peacefully.
Some of my cousins argued him down. They could not believe what he was saying.
He said that EVERYTHING Trump was doing reminded him of Papa Doc: favoring his friends & supporters with business & legal protection, punishing his enemies, sowing divisions, taking over the judiciary, enriching himself, installing his family, not providing aid to people, etc.
I think a lot of people mistake “not leaving peacefully” to mean Trump physically leaving in January. Not leaving peacefully also means breaking everything on your way out including faith, trust, and integrity in future elections.
The end result is a country in chaos, without peace.

I wrote on to Law Review at my law school @AUWCL in 1997. I was the only Black person. There hadn’t been one since the mid-80s. No other Black person when I graduated in 1999. If not for my roommate, I wouldn’t have known what it was.
I didn’t know much about law school before I got there. Did not personally know a lawyer at the time. All I knew was what I saw Easy on The Eyes @BlairUnderwood do on the tv show L.A. Law.
