Haridwar also known as Haradwar The sacred land for devotees of Hara &Hari, a pilgrimage for admirer of Maa Ganga.

Haridwar is among the seven most sacred Tirthas mentioned in our Puranas

अयोध्या मथुरा माया काशी कांची अवंतिका।
पुरी द्वारावती चैव सप्तैता मोक्षदायिका
The name of Haridwar in ancient time was Mayapur. There was a temple of Mayadevi near the city.
But later the temple was destroyed and the name of the city has changed to Haridwar by the course of time.
According to Skandha ,Padma & Shiva Purana Trideva Brahama ,Vishnu & Mahesha
Stay together here at Haridwar.
Lord Bhahma had greeted Maa Ganga at this place after her Dharaqatarana at a place named BHRAMHAKUNDA.
Footsteps of Shi Hari Vishnu is found in "Shrihari Kund" of "Har ki Pauri". Har ki Pauri is the most important Ghat of Haridwar
During Samudra Manthan there was a fierce war between Devata & Danava. To protect the Amrita Kalasa Garuda ran away with the Amrit Kalasa. At that time few drops of Amrita fell on the earth at 4 places like Prayag,Ujjain,Nashik & Haridwar. At this 4 place Kumba Melas r organized
since time immemorial .
So Haridwar is also a Venue of Kumbh Mela.
This is the Door way to Sacred Tirtha like Kedarnath & Badrinath
Haridwar is not only famous for Tridev but also for Arjuna & Bheema in Mahabharata
During Angnyatabasa Arjuna got married to Naga Kanya Ulupi here
The place where Bheema had sat on his knee to take the sacred dip in Ganga is known as "Bheemgoda"

This land is sanctified by the touch of footsteps of thousands of Muni Rishi ,Devata ,Mahapurusa which main attraction is the Patitapawani,Punyatoya ,Himawanta Nandini Maa Ganga

STHAPATI & his team. Sthapati was adorned with title of Acharya &
was highly knowledgable in Shastras.He had the overall responsibility of planning ,designing & executing the construction of the temples from beginning to a completed Masterpiece. He was an expert in workmanship.
The architect of the temple was master of science of architecture.
He had well versed in traditional science, mathematics, astronomy, astrology ,knowledege of Rythms ect. He was balanced in body and Mind. He was highly respected and noble person in the then society.

1 Shi Balaji has silky hair on his head and does not get entangled in him and he always looks fresh.

SANKARACHAYRA TEMPLE located on the Sankaracharya hill on Zabarwan range in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir Union Teriotrry is dedicated to Mahadev Shiva.

Kalhana,the author of Rajataranini has mentioned that King Gopaditya has built the original temple around 371 BC as the shrine of
Jyesthesvara Shiva.Present temple is built in 9th Century.The large Shivalinga installed in the Garbhagtiha is said to be brought from Narmada River.

Adi Sankaracharya visited this place in 9th century.He wrote the Saundarya Lahari in praise of Shakti at the top of hill known
till then as Gopadari hills.He also
attained the spiritual knowledge here.Thereafter both the hill and the temple was dedicated to him and known as Sankaracharya Hill and Sankaracharya Temple.

The temple is now a Nationally protected structure & maintained by ASI.

Chaturmukha or Chaumukhnath Temple of ,Nachna Village of Panna Dist of Madhya Pradesh has a very rare form of Mukhalinga which is 4.67ft high carved out of single stone with four faces on four cardinal direction.Out of 4, three are in clam & meditating position where as fifth one
in in highly energized form of Bhairava with wide open mouth & raised nostril.
The temple is built on a plat form and the four face Sivalinga as Sadashiva represents the Pancha Mukha Aspect of Shiva where Tatpurusha ,Vamadeva ,Satyojatha & Bhairava face four cardinal direction
& while Ishana the fifth one beyond the space & formless. All the faces are with elaborated hare style.
The temple is rebuilt in 9th century on the original 5th century (Jagati) platform and many part of old temple are reused in it.
