It's on the Silk Road and one part of the former Tartarian empire. I find the architecture and sculpture interesting, and surely symbolic.

Ramesses II adopted her as his personal guardian in battle, and named his dog "Anat In Vigor" and his daughter (who later became his wife) "Bint-Anat." Anat was associated w the precious dye known as Tyrian purple, made from the murex mollusk.
In Greek mythology, Herakles' dog finds the mollusk shell from which Tyrian purple is made.
