Watching the penultimate episode of Supernatural and I am unforgivably bored.
What? Jack became a magic dustbuster?
Like that is not a development you explain in complete retrospect, like out of nowhere. Wow.
He's just been absorbing powers and we don't hear about it until he's taking on god? Fucking for real? All of that happened in such a thrown together anticlimactic way. How annoying.
And now Jack just wanders tf off. We get no sense of purpose to that or anything. Wow. No show should be allowed to run for 15 seasons.
This is the most unearned montage.
Seriously, this montage is like a fan-made youtube tribute.
If you pit your protagonists against god and the resolution is lowkey boring, you have wasted some important opportunities. I almost feel like it would have been better to end at the season 14 finale, when god turned on them bc that was shocking and hilarious and awesome.
I still can't get over how poorly they built to the Jack vs god moment. Like damn. Dean never makes real peace with Jack -- a scene we definitely deserved. It's all so weak.
I read the finale is going to be more old school. So there's that at least. It had better be an incredible fucking episode. I mean, after this, I have serious doubts, but maybe Supernatural Classic will be different.
Like did someone put on a pot of coffee and crank that penultimate episode out in one sitting? How do you make a throw down with the almighty dull? God literally beating them up was just silly & went on way too long. Then the out of nowhere Jack stuff. Hate it, hate it, hate it.
I am still processing the fact that Jack had the ability to defeat god the whole time that god was beating the shit out of Sam and Dean. Like he was over there busting their bones and shit & the writing on that was also excruciating. Mad at Jack for not ending it sooner. 😂
The part where Jack puts all the missing people back in the public places they disappeared from could have been very powerful, under the circumstances, and it just didn't hit that way. That's a shame. I look forward to something that lands that imagery and idea well.
