Girlfriend finally relented and agreed to watch THE HUNGER GAMES, the best cinema created in my lifetime.
Some of you seem to think this is sarcastic or flip so let me be clear: The Hunger Games series is an absolute masterpiece, I’ve seen each of the movies dozens of times, and there is nothing - nothing - I enjoy more (she’s a close second though).
The ratio cometh
To be clear I’m watching The Hunger Games in honor of Nancy Pelosi and her (since abandoned?) decision to have a fancy schmancy dinner while telling cities and states to shut down.
FDR put ethnic minorities in camps, Bush championed government surveillance, and Obama used a drone strike to kill a US citizen but you’re right Trump’s mean tweets are far worse.
We’re going to keep hearing this take over and over again because it’s the only way for these types of resistance grifters to rationalize their constant state of hysteria over the last four years.
It just isn’t true.
I hope someone smarter than me on the left side of the aisle is writing a piece about how Trump just wasn’t as bad as everyone said he would be but if no one does I guess I’ll write it.
Pfizer announced positive trial results for their coronavirus vaccine today. That’s great news, but it’s undermined when Dems & others have pushed a conspiracy that, because Orange Man Bad, the vaccine won’t work.
Don’t remember? Well follow me down memory lane.👇
Perhaps the most well-known anti-vaccine voice on this was @KamalaHarris, who kicked up a firestorm when she suggested she wouldn’t trust or take a vaccine coming out of the Trump Administration.
But she wasn’t alone.
Where bad and dangerous coronavirus ideas go, @NYGovCuomo is never far behind. By now you’ve surely heard of his comments that it’s “bad news” that we got a vaccine during the Trump Admin. Just a vile comment.
It really can’t be overstated how much better our country would be if our media looked more like @megynkelly and less like @chrislhayes
I get a lot of flack on here for being someone who pushes back on the “enemy of the people” bit in defense of the media. Kelly is a great example of what a plausible alternative could (and should) look like.
It appears the distinction I was trying to draw didn’t necessarily come through.
Kelly is able to ignore personal animosity while striving to understand the truth. Hayes is consumed by animosity and elevates it to the place of truth.
