THREAD ON THE INDIGENOUSLY DEVELOPED/MANUFACTURED NAVAL SYSTEMS AND AVIONICS.
1. VARUNA ESM SYSTEM
It is a ship-borne Modern ESM System, indigenously designed n developed by DLRL fr installation on a different class of naval ships of @indiannavy.
For Interception, Detection,
+
Classification & Id of conventional & modern LPI radars.
• Hybrid Receivers to meet strategic and tactical ES requirements with 100% Probability of Intercept over C to J Frequency Band
• Capability to Build, Update and Monitor Activity of 500 Radars
• 360 deg cover
+
L-Band Surveillance Radar MkIII (RAWL 02 Mk III) BY BEL
fr detection of air n surface targets.
Instrumentation range is 270Kms
Synthesizer controlled transmitter wth TWT amplifier, performs wth great frequency agility ovr a wideband due to its synthesizer-driven TWT transmitter
+Shakti is an Integrated Radar EW System for Capital ships with Electronic Support (ES) System and
integrated Radar Finger Printing System (RFPS) covering B to K frequency band and ECM System covering H to K frequency band.
Wide Open Reception capability in D to K frequency band.
+
Advanced Light Towed Array Sonar (ALTAS) fr Long Range Detection
Towed Body Wth Free Flooded Ring Transducer
■ Hydrodynamically optimised fr high towing speed
■ High source-level
■ High bandwidth
Long acoustical array aperture to covr d important info in the lowfrequency
+
band Twin array design to instantaneously resolve d left/right ambiguity wth d processing of a high no. of staves n preformed beams Transmitter wth high source level n bandwidth Transmission of various pulse types fr detection n classification(moving/stationary targts) in 360°
+ 5. Submarine Fired Decoy (SFD)
It is a part of ATDS suite which is effective against modern and vintage torpedo fired against a ship or submarine. The idea of Expendable Acoustic Decoy is to confuse and/ or seduce torpedo by mimicking like a target ship.
+ 6. DRDO's Maareech System.
Its a complete package involving sensors and decoys fr defence against vintage as we as modern torpedoes.
Its a fully integrated sys having both torpedo detection n countermeasure cap.
The system comprises 2 sonars
HMS active
TAS passive detection.
+ 7.
1st Indigenous Floating Dock(FDN-2) by L&T.
The Ship is already operational with the navy, it was launched in 2018.
🔹Lifting capacity: Up to 8000 T
🔹Fully-automated Ballast Control System
🔹Constructed of military-grade steel.
🔹Redundancy of critical systems
+ 8. Anti Sub warfare Fire Control System by L&T
• Interfaces with ship's SONAR and CMS
• Generates fire control solution to neutralize the target
• ASW Rocket Launcher
• Light Weight Torpedo Launcher
• Heavy Weight Torpedo Launcher
• Advanced Torpedo Defence System
9. L&t Manufactured RBU-6000 ASW
The rockets can be launched against submarines & torpedoes up to a 6 km range & can be used as an anti-frogman system against combat divers who try to sabotage a ship
+ 10. Kavach naval decoy system
Presently two versions Kavach Mod-I and Mod-II manufactured by OFB.
It distracts radar-guided missiles from their targets n acts as a sys for self-defence, releases chaff made up of silver coated glass fibre. The chaff forms a clutter which remains
+ suspended in the air so that the incoming guided missile confuses the chaff as the actual target n gets locked onto the chaff instead of the actual target.
AFK developed 3 versions of naval decoy system 'Kavach' with ranges of 12 km; 5 km and 1 km (short-range) chaff rockets.
+ 11. ADVANCED LIGHTWEIGHT TORPEDO
ALWT is an anti-submarine torpedo launched frm a ship, helicopter or frm a fixed-wing aircraft.
The presence of an enemy target is detected by the sonar onboard a ship or an aircraft. Based on target parameters estimated by the sonar and FCS,
+torpedo is fired with a few preset parameters to ensure that the weapon is in most favourable position to acquire the target, home in and destroy it. As submarine can change course and depth during its evasive manoeuvre, the weapon is to be guided in both horizontal and vertical
+planes to attack the target. ALWT has an operational depth of 600 m, is capable of being launched from lightweight torpedo tubes of IN ships, ALH and Sea King 42B helicopters of the IN.
Salient Features
🔹Dynamics: Capable of variable speeds ranging up to 50knt.
🔹Acoustic Homing
Mode: Active, Passive and Mixed
Active Frequency: FM, CWorCombination
🔹Warhead: shaped charge, capable of penetrating the pressure hull of a submarine
🔹The control and guidance elements of the torpedo is capable of navigating the torpedo to ensure target
+acquisition with more than 50% probability at 8o% of the maximum engagement range of the torpedo
+ 12. DRDO-BDL Varunastra Heavyweight Torpedo...
It uses 400v silver oxide-zinc battery
Depths of operation 400 m
MaX speed: 40 knt
Fiber-optic channel + copper wire-guided variants
Functioned with
Low-drift nav sys
Auto guidance algorithms
+ 13. INS Arihant's SLBM launching tube..
INS Arihant has four vertical launch tubes, which can carry 12 (3 per launch tube) K-15 missiles or four K-4 missiles. The K-4 is larger than K-15 and has a longer range of 3500 km.
+
Apart from K-15 (B-05) and K-4 missile, DRDO is also developing 5,000-km range K-5 and 6,000-km range K-6 which would add more teeth to the arsenal.
14. Naval EO pods Kolkatta class destroyers...

The @IAF_MCC commenced the spin flight testing of @HALHQBLR's Modified IJT in Bengaluru, today.
The indigenous Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) will replace the ageing Kiran aircraft fleet of the IAF.
The spin testing of an aircraft is the most crucial phase of its flight testing
+Accordingly, the testing will be gradually progressed to assess the behaviour of the aircraft till 6 turn spins to either side to meet the targeted requirement
The IJT has already been tested to its full envelope in terms of speed, altitude and load factor (`g' envelope) and hs
+ also been integrated with drop tanks as well as bombs. For a spin test, HAL redesigned the aircraft by moving the vertical tail aft n extending the rudder surface. These changes for ensuring a satisfactory spin behaviour required extensive redesign of the rear fuselage and the
HSTDV tested at 11 AM, 07 Sept 2020 from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Launch Complex at Wheeler Island, off the coast of Odisha.
The vehicle ws launched using a proven solid rocket motor, which took it to an alt of 30 km,
where the aero heat shields were separated at hypersonic Mach nO.
+
The cruise vehicle separated from the launch vehicle and the air intake opened as planned.
The hypersonic combustion sustained and the cruise vehicle continued on its desired flight path at a velocity of MACH 6 i.e. nearly 2 km/s for more than 20s.

The critical events like fuel injection and auto ignition of scramjet demonstrated technological maturity. The scramjet engine performed in a textbook manner. The parameters of launch and cruise vehicles, including scramjet engine was monitored by multiple tracking radars, EO
