I also want to take a second to frame my comments: I am speaking as an analyst, not as a journalist. My opinions are the result of analysis, and I’m expressing probabilities. The goal of my speaking up about this is to expose potentially bad actors and effect better outcomes.

I’m synthesizing info from multiple channels to express a unified view; this particular scenario has been explored by analysts like David Ignatius, Kori Schake, and Benjamin Wittes. I’m providing background info so more of us can understand (and stop) what’s going on in DC.

These bozos like to say “nothing can stop what’s coming,” and I’m here to call BS on that. We can stop it but we need to take the time to understand the scenario and the motivations of the principle actors. Exposing to inquiry and ridicule works. #StupidCoup #RIPQ

Some have asked if this coup about Trump trying to remain in power. No, and yes. The main goal seems to be to harm the US IC; but there is magical thinking that suggests if that is done, Trump will somehow retain power. It doesn’t have to make sense IRL; only in cult logic. #RIPQ
