It looks like a safe bet that Joe Biden will be sworn in after successfully campaigning on returning the murderous and oppressive Orwellian US empire back to its pre-Trump "normal".
The problem with this that it's just re-creating the conditions which gave rise to Trump.
Trying to undo the damage of Trump by returning to the conditions which created Trump is like using a time machine to prevent a train wreck, but only going back to one millisecond before the train wreck occurred.
It is clear that Trump's election was the result of the easily exploited dissatisfaction caused by years of neoliberal austerity at home and neoconservative bloodshed abroad which Obama forcefully expanded and facilitated throughout two terms as president. truthdig.com/articles/barac…
Trump voters famously defended opting for the reality TV star over the anointed establishment favorite Hillary Clinton as a middle finger to the Beltway orthodoxy which did nothing but enrich the "swamp" Trump pretended to oppose on the campaign trail. theatlantic.com/notes/2016/11/…
And from all appearances it looks like Biden is going to be worse.
Unlike Obama, Biden did not campaign on hope and change, he campaigned on opposing the socialist inclinations of Sanders progressives and an aggressive foreign policy of world domination. nypost.com/2020/10/06/joe…
He assured rich donors that nothing will fundamentally change under his presidency and his transition team is full of corporate sociopaths, war pigs and propagandists.
Biden has been a corporatist warmongering authoritarian throughout his entire career, and as his mental capacity continues to deteriorate he will function as nothing more than an empty vessel for his establishment handlers to use how they see fit. currentaffairs.org/2020/03/democr…
If I prove right about this, the Biden administration *will* generate backlash just like that which arose in response to the Obama administration, and that backlash *will* be more severe than its previous iteration. This is absolutely guaranteed.
There is absolutely nothing American leftists can do to prevent this backlash from coming. They will have absolutely no say in this administration's policies or behavior; BidenCorp has made no pretense of having any interest in listening to them. independent.co.uk/news/world/ame…

Western propaganda works to decouple imperialism-targeted nations and people from their governments. It's not Syria's government, it's "the Assad regime" with the Syrian people held as separate. It's not China's government, it's "the CCP" with the Chinese people held as separate.
They always work to spin governments the empire doesn't like as these hostile, alien invaders of a nation which has nothing to do with them. They point at it like it's an ugly growth. "Uh-oh, what's that MADURO REGIME doing in Venezuela?? We can lance that for you."
And of course the "anarchists" who suck at thinking always fall for it, because they regard all governments as illegitimate. So they wind up clapping along with US State Department lines, cheering for the downfall of a government in unwitting service of a much bigger government.
What the left can do is get ahead of the game. Take control of the anti-Biden, anti-establishment pushback by leading the charge--sooner, more aggressively, and more compellingly than the far right does.
We already know the American left has the ability to pull this off. The grassroots, populist support for Bernie Sanders during his two primary campaigns has been one of the most energized and inspired forces I've ever witnessed.
The problem with Bernie Twitter is that it only exists for a few months at a time, fizzling out when it becomes clear that their candidate has had the door shut to him and then reluctantly diverted into support for the establishment candidate under the guidance of Bernie himself.
The lushest plants have their roots in shit,
and the lushest people, too.
They do not rise above the shit,
their roots dangling like car wash tentacles as they levitate in the air.
They sink into it.
They build their foundation in it.
They do not transcend,
they embody.
And they grow.
They grow above the shit.
They grow into the shit.
They grow of the shit.
"Let's clear this up before the girl power parade starts: the first woman to head the US war machine will not be a groundbreaking pioneer of feminist achievement. She will be a mass murderer who wears Spanx." caitlinjohnstone.substack.com/p/this-isnt-fe…
"Michele Flournoy, a politically moderate Pentagon veteran, is regarded by U.S. officials and political insiders as a top choice for the position." - AP
This word "moderate" which the AP news agency keeps bleating about Flournoy is of course complete nonsense. Standing in the middle ground between two corporatist warmongering parties does not make you a moderate, it makes you a corporatist warmonger.
Biden's presidency looks set to be worse than Obama's in every way. There will be a backlash against this. It is 🚨🚨ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE🚨🚨 that the US left fight like never before to make sure it's more of a leftist backlash than a rightist one, or things will get very ugly.
If you don't take the fight to the libs, the right will. If you don't seize control of the dominant narrative, the right will. This is 100% guaranteed. You need to start dealing with this NOW unless you want something far uglier than Trump down the road in the near term.
Strongly disagree. Leftists should loudly and ferociously attack every garbage decision the incoming administration makes whether they lesser-eviled him in or not.
Outgoing US envoy to Syria James Jeffrey stated in a recent interview with Defense One that US officials have been "playing shell games" about the number of troops in the region to deceive the Trump administration into thinking there has been a military withdrawal.
Some mass media propagandists find it hilarious that the US war machine used deceit to thwart the president's attempts to withdraw from its illegal occupation of Syria.
