There are three reasons why Corbyn's statement today does not change his disgraceful response to the EHRC report: 
1. Saying "concerns about antisemitism are neither "exaggerated" nor "overstated"" does not contradict his original claim that "the scale of the problem was also dramatically overstated for political reasons". They are different claims.
2. Saying "I fully support Keir Starmer’s decision to accept all the EHRC recommendations in full" does not contradict his original statement that " I do not accept all of its findings". The report's findings and recommendations are different things.
3. Still no apology or personal responsibility. "I regret the pain this issue has caused the Jewish community" is the most weaselly wording imaginable. It's unacceptable and insulting.
These were the three parts of his original statement that did the most damage and he has not withdrawn any of them. The EHRC report spoke about how the party under Corbyn's leadership chose - yes, chose - not to deal with antisemitism. That is what he needs to accept.
One final point: if Corbyn has retracted his original response to the EHRC report, why hasn't he deleted the post from his Facebook page? It's still up facebook.com/330250343871/p…
