I’m going to download Parler and see if it makes me feel like a free man.
I joined and the first thing it did was recommend I follow Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, or Duck Dynasty guy. Is anyone on that site not a Republican tv personality? I like free speech but there’s got to be someone worth listening to.
Found Alex Jones. He’s at least funny.
And here I am. I think I'll just get the InfoWars app if I don't find some more people worth following.
ok, so I found a few people I want to follow but don't think I can follow them under my own name. Maybe I should start over.
Yeah I think that's probably the last time I'll use it.

It actually could work if influential Republicans used it exclusively, then some leftists would have to come along to cover the right. But if they're going to keep both Parler and Twitter accounts it's not happening.

Attempt to change the results in Michigan thwarted by black resident showing up and accusing the Republicans of being racist.

Pretty spineless behavior if you really thought the election was stolen!

Most cowardly coup plotters ever. nytimes.com/2020/11/17/us/… Image
Another story on the same events.

"The staff, largely made up of middle-aged and 20-something Black men and women, looked on in silence with their arms crossed as they watched the unprecedented move not to approve the results." washingtonpost.com/politics/michi… Image
More on the shaming that went into the Wayne County officials changing their minds, this time from a conservative news source. Lots of talk of what will your children think and history will remember. washingtonexaminer.com/news/detroit-a… ImageImage

State Department new document on China shows the pathologies of the national security state and new cold warriors on full display. Let's take a look. beta.documentcloud.org/documents/2040…
The document needs to justify itself by pointing to Chinese behavior. What is the problem? Trade and investment. From the country that bombs other nations and kills their leaders. They're describing the rise of a peaceful power and putting it in the most sinister terms. 2/n
China buys oil from the Middle East! It sells them weapons, which "undermines US defense companies" (they forgot you're not supposed to say that part aloud)

China imports food from Latin America and sells them goods it produces itself! 3/n

Seriously, does Trump actually believe the election is determined by network projections? And is all of Trumpworld going along with it because nobody wants to tell him otherwise?

The campaign seems to have spent a lot of time and energy on this. washingtonpost.com/politics/trump…
Again, I'm starting to think they literally believe this.
They literally have no idea how any of this works.

Goodbye to Martha McSally, both the worst politician we have ever seen, and the person who embodies the worst characteristics of the right and left. A thread down memory lane.

Sam Harris Trump hate is the most entertaining form of Trump hate in a very crowded field. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mak…

A few thoughts on Borat. The main target of the movie is clearly Trump supporters, but I feel bad that Kazakhstan gets caught in the crosshairs. Based on his stereotype, you can see Cohen wants to critique Russians, Germans, and Arabs for historical reasons. 1/n
He picks on Kazakhstan as some kind of amalgamation of all three, despite it being a pretty successful country over the last two decades. This is likely because of its lack of influence, and because most Americans know nothing about it, letting him create any image he wants. 2/n
In the beginning, he tells us Kazakhstan celebrates the Holocaust. This is a completely invented slander. I know it's a movie, and these are jokes, but it's a joke with no historical basis at all and just takes advantage of the ignorance of the viewer. 3/n
