A white and privileged Venezuelan man accusing me of sowing division because I dare to say that Republicans are racists.
He’s also playing the *socialist* card, because in their very limited intellectual capacity, that’s about as much as they can deal with in a political debate.
This a disturbing pattern that probably a psychologist would be better trained to explain: Venezuelans who do not have ties to the US pretend to be stakeholders in an electoral process that has nothing to do with them.
Some of the argue they have *ties* because a cousin (or a friend) lives here. This is such a disturbing behavior that I find alarming, it is a detachment from reality, and is increasingly concerning. I am truly alarmed by this behavior, this is not normal.
They are obsessed about a country they do not live in, ignoring the basics of its political system, let alone its history.
They have no clue about what race or gender mean in this country, and yet, they attempt to characterize it with a narrow-minded approach that leaves little doubt of their desperation.
Another example: I’m talking about Republicans disenfranchising Black and Latinos. Someone jumped in with a Wikipedia reference about Lincoln ending slavery.

Don’t be surprised with progressives and the left gaining more support. The right is advancing an authoritarian agenda, and they will face the consequences. They will have only themselves to blame.
They are terrified with the prospects of a minority-majority country, where the White population that is being outpaced by Latinos. They think disenfranchising is the best mechanism to avoid the inevitable.
They fail to understand that the current population growth in the last three years is not enough, adding to it the shut down of legal immigration, this is creating a critical scenario for the economy in the future.

The events of today are slightly different, from what this circus has been since Election Day. First, the messaging is clear: the Trump campaign doesn’t have the votes, but not even a legal case. They have their base and they are gearing up for a fight:
They have been feeding their base enough long to have them ready, they haven't had luck, yet:
The campaign knows, just like the rest of the country, that they don't have the votes. The Wayne County drama and the Wisconsin recount are signs that has President is moving forward in his plan to change the results:

People from Latin America who are not familiar with racial issues in the U.S. believe this is false. Brown people have bought into right-wing media’s narrative.
A friend sent me this disturbing video:

I have seen other video clips toting conspiracy theories, QAnon stories, and the are persuaded by a very consistent framing of the information.

Several days ago a local reporter asked what was the reason for the "interest" Venezuelans have about politics (and elections) in the United States.
We spoke about Venezuelan-Americans and their support for Trump, and the influence the Cuban-American exile in South Florida has on the Venezuelan-American community.
Among academics, the conversation about Venezuelan-Americans is gaining a lot of interest, both because of their political preferences and their impact on local electoral results.
