1. There is a lot going on but everyone should really know about the brief filed in federal court by Team Giuliani for the Trump campaign in federal court last night.

Among many brazen attacks on the democratic process, it manages to stand out.

Let's dive in.
2. The fundamental problem Giuliani faces is that there is absolutely no evidence of fraud.

Their solution is that they've filed a motion to review 3 MILLION ENVELOPES used to return absentee ballots so that they can try to find some evidence.

This is not a joke.
3. But wait, how is Giuliani and his crew going to personally review 3 million envelopes? They can't. But they have a solution.

They are asking for a RANDOM SELECTION of ballots. They will then use that selection to invalidate Biden ballots BY INFERENCE
4. On the basis of this "exercise" the Trump campaign is asking the court to DECLARE TRUMP THE WINNER

Not because they counted the votes and Trump got more

But through a ridiculous method invented by the Trump campaign that does not involve counting votes
5. There are no legal citations to support this kind of remedy because it is absolutely absurd

Republicans are saying Trump has the right to pursue legal challenges.

But these aren't legitimate legal challenges. They are an affront to the rule of law.

1. The Biden-Harris transition issued an extensive ethics policy.

But is it being followed?

A key national security briefing this week included two board members for Raytheon, one of the largest defense contractors

2. The policy prohibits participants from involvement "in any particular Transition matter that... may directly conflict with a financial interest of the member"

So why were Raytheon board members involved?

The transition didn't respond to Qs

3. Shortly before the election Raytheon CEO Gregory Hayes said it was "ridiculous" to think that Biden would reduce military spending

He called for increased military spending to regain the military's technological edge over China

1. The good news is there appears to be at least two highly effective vaccines

The bad news is that they only work if you taken them and 40%+ of Americans say they won't

Vaccine misinfo continues to reach substantial audiences on Facebook and YouTube

2. Facebook does not ban vaccine misinformation. It says it will reduce its distribution.

Yesterday, Popular Information sent Facebook three examples of vaccine misinformation that attracted significant audiences on Facebook

3. A few hours later, Facebook permanently removed one of the pages I flagged, Stop Mandatory Vaccination, a notorious source of misinfo

But here is where it gets interesting: Facebook said it took down the page for violating its QAnon policy

1. Charles Koch, the right-wing billionaire who spent hundreds of millions of dollars to radicalize the Republican party, now says he regrets his "partisanship."

“Boy, did we screw up!” he writes in his new book.

But talk is cheap. Follow Koch's money.

2. During the 2020 election, the Koch Industries PAC contributed $1.37 million to Republicans and $46,000 to Democrats. Koch Industries PAC is more heavily partisan than it was in 2010 when it donated $1.18 million to Republicans and $112,000 to Democrats

3. Since the election, an organization funded by Koch, Americans for Prosperity Action, has spent 440K supporting the campaign of Senator David Perdue (R-GA)

Perdue is publicly fueling the conspiracy that the election was stolen from Trump

1. Two corporate law firms, @JonesDay and Porter Wright, are helping Trump attack democracy

Jones Day says it's not involved in efforts to overturn the results, but is representing the PA GOP to try to invalidate thousands of ballots

@JonesDay 2. Porter Wright is seeking an injunction to prevent Pennsylvania from certifying its results, which would disenfranchise millions of voters.

Among Porter Wright's other clients is @Amazon.

3. @Amazon has recognized Biden as the winner and emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the democratic process

It acknowledged receipt of Qs about its relationship with Porter Wright, but didn't provide an on-the-record response

1. If you want to understand why Trump won't concede

2. After election day, the Trump campaign has sent more than 150 emails soliciting donations

The appeals come about once every hour

There are tens of millions of people on the list

If even a tiny fraction are donating, that's millions a day

3. The donors are being duped. Most emails solicit funds for the "ELECTION DEFENSE TASK FORCE"

But none of the $ is actually earmarked for the Trump campaign's legal efforts

60% goes to pay down Trump's campaign debt

40% goes to the RNC general account

1. If you read the news, you might be under the impression that the GOP has retained control of the Senate

Control will be decided by two run-off election in Georgia on Jan 5

And both GOP incumbents have major vulnerabilities

2. Sen. Loeffler has never been elected to any office and won just 26% of the vote Tuesday in a crowded field

After attending a private briefing on COVID on Jan 24, she invested up to 250K in Citrix, a company that makes work-from-home software

3. Less well-known is Loeffler's massive conflict of interest. She sits on the Senate Finance Committee which oversees her husband's company, which owns the New York Stock Exchange

Loeffler was also paid millions by the company before becoming Senator
