(Mini-THREAD) Clarifying my comments regarding Carson Wentz and "sloppy practice habits." I was attempting to convey two things, and I did it too quickly. 1) The Eagles have had some sloppy practices as of late. That's not specific to Carson...
2) In retrospect, there's a feeling among some in the building that they wish certain things had been drilled into Carson from an early stage, and stressed at practice: a push for him to check the ball down and give up on plays more quickly...
3) All parties concerned believe what I have always believed: Carson Wentz is an exceptionally hard worker who grinds at practice (and when not at practice) and has a strong mental mastery of the QB position...
To summarize: The team is losing. The offense is in a rut. Some practices have been lousy. Carson is grinding. Some people wish he'd been coached to check it down/give up on plays from an early stage. And I didn't do a great job of separating these thoughts in a live-TV format.

THREAD: 1) As @KimJonesSports reported, the incident that led to the abrupt firing of Giants OL coach Marc Colombo did involve Colombo calling HC Joe Judge a very dirty name. However, tensions began weeks earlier after an incident on the practice field...
2) According to a witness, Judge corrected the technique of center Nick Gates during a practice several weeks ago, and Colombo disagreed with correction. Judge reacted angrily, and from that point on was frosty toward the OL coach. Ultimately, Judge brought in Dave DeGuglielmo...
3) The Giants' line had struggled early in the season, especially rookie LT Andrew Thomas, but things had begun to improve--and the unit has performed well during the team's current two-game winning streak. Colombo was popular with his players, and they were in a good zone...

THREAD: 1) According to a source familiar with the NFL's scheduling scenarios, when the league decided Sunday morning not to play Broncos-Patriots Monday night, they debated an indefinite postponement, which would essentially have put the "Week 18" scenario in play...
2) Instead, Broncos-Patriots was moved to next Sunday... and a contingency plan involving eight games, eight teams and six switched bye weeks was implemented. However, once a team that's already had its bye can't play in a given week, Week 18 will likely become a reality...
3) This could happen as soon as tomorrow morning. If positive tests among the Bills and/or Titans force Tuesday's game between those teams to be postponed--& given that the Titans have already had their bye--the game would be indefinitely postponed (potentially pushed to Week 18)

THREAD: 1) Earlier on @gmfb I broke down the latest on the @Kaepernick7 workout scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the @AtlantaFalcons facility. Here are some important things to know...
2) Not only was @Kaepernick7 caught off guard by Tuesday's league-initiated push for the workout, but so were most (or perhaps all) team executives. Kaepernick was given 2 hours to accept or reject the league's offer, and the date and place were non-negotiable...
3) Ideally this workout would take place on a Tuesday (when most players are off, and coaches and GMs have more flexibility in their schedules), with a little more lead time to prepare...

THREAD: 1) Even before suffering bizarre injuries to his feet, Antonio Brown alarmed Raiders coaches and teammates by railing against the NFL’s enhanced enforcement of helmet regulations, a policy change which will likely force the star receiver to switch to a new model...
2) Brown’s vocal resistance to the mandate, both during OTAs and shortly after his arrival in Napa, Calif. for training camp, has contributed to a disconnect with the team that acquired the seven-time Pro Bowl selection via a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers last March...
3) According to four sources familiar with Brown’s current absence from camp, which dates back to late last week, Raiders coaches and players are concerned that the receiver’s unhappiness regarding the helmet issue may be playing a role in his decision to stay away from Napa...
