While we wait on a final few data points for our daily numbers - our second weekly update on COVID-19 data in long-term care facilities is published.

This week we saw the most cases of COVID-19 in these congregate facilities since May.

The Midwest is now the epicenter of COVID-19 outbreaks, where 38% of all new cases in LTC facilities were reported this week. Nearly every state in the region hit new peaks in either cases, deaths, or both. Ohio recorded 3,123 cases - the highest of this last week.
In May, four-fifths of COVID-19 deaths in Minnesota were tied to LTC facilities; today that figure is 69%. Nationally, that number is 40%. This week, Minnesota reported their highest cases and deaths since May.
