1/9 @CDCgov states that the principal mode of infection for #COVID19 is via exposure to respiratory droplets (big or small - aerosolized).
One of the simplest ways of minimize this exposure is by minimizing #SharedAir with other people 🧵
2/9 How does one do that? Some simple tips:
* Masks - masks help control things exhaled and inhaled. Primarily recommended for their ability to control things at "source", i.e., the infected person.
3/9
* Distance - Farther you are, less likely are your chances of exposure to high concentrations of respiratory droplets of other people
4/9
*Ventilation - bringing in more outside, uncontaminated air helps dilute concentrations of the respiratory droplets, again reducing your exposure
5/9
*Filtration - Portable air cleaners and in-duct filters can just filter out - even tiny droplets - from the air, minimizing exposure
6/9
*Outdoors - In case you did not notice, the atmosphere is HUGE! It will quickly dilute anything you exhale into it. So, outdoors and distanced is pretty safe
7/9
*Time spent - Longer time spent in particular space increases your exposure chances. So, try to spend as little time as possible in indoor space that are not your own home. Else, take breaks and air-out the space.
8/9
*Source control - If feeling unwell for whatever reason, avoid going into confined spaces with other people.
9/9 These are just a few ideas. Using multiple of them together (layers) reduces risks further.
And the fundamental idea is to #BewareOfSharedAir. You can always come up with your own tricks on how you want to achieve this.
