The remainder of Trump's life will largely be dictated by whether the judge gives him 1) bail, 2) house arrest, or 3) jail, while he awaits trial. If it's 1 or 2, he'll likely try to delay his trial for the last couple years of his expected lifespan. If it's 3, he'll just rot.
Trump will argue that with his age and poor health, he shouldn't rot in a cell while awaiting trial, particularly during a pandemic (which he ironically created).

It'll all come down to the whim of whichever New York state judge gets his case. But the most likely compromise could be house arrest at Mar-a-Lago, with his visits and electronic communications monitored.
If that sounds too lenient, keep in mind that Trump is a creature of habit and will eventually violate the terms, and end up in a pre-trial jail cell anyway. Just ask his buddy Paul Manafort.
Keep in mind that Trump will definitely face trial in New York on state charges, probably face federal trial (after his self-pardon is eventually thrown out), and possibly face trial in other states. Different judges all having a say in his pre-trial fate. Strictest one wins.
At this point my guess is he "moved" to Mar-a-Lago a year ago in the hope of more firmly establishing it as his primary residence, in the hope of convincing the judge to let him serve his house arrest there, as opposed to one of his (comparatively small) New York apartments.
