Statement last year from renowned Native leader and political prisoner Leonard Peltier, who has been unjustly incarcerated for more than 44 years: "The year is coming to a close, and with it comes the day most Americans set aside as a day for Thanksgiving." Image
"I try to imagine what the people who live outside the prison gates are doing, and what they are thinking. Do they ever think of the Indigenous people who were forced from their homelands?" Image
"Do they understand that with every step they take, no matter the direction, that they are walking on stolen land?" Image
"Can you imagine, even for one minute, what it was like to watch the suffering of the women, the children and babies and yes, the sick and elderly, as they were made to keep pushing west in freezing temperatures, with little or no food." Image
"These were my people and this was our land. There was a time when we enjoyed freedom, and were able to hunt buffalo and gather foods and sacred medicines. We were able to fish and we enjoyed the clean, clear water!" Image
"With the coming of foreigners to our shores, life as we knew it would change drastically." Image
"Individual ownership was foreign to my people. We were a communal people and we took care of each other. Our grandparents weren't isolated from us! They were wisdom keepers and storytellers, and were an important link in our families. The babies? They were and are our future!" ImageImage
"Look at the brilliant young people who put themselves at risk, fighting to keep our water and environment clean and safe for the generations yet to come. I smile with hope when I think of them. They are fearless and ready to speak the truth to all who are willing to listen." ImageImage
"We also remember our brothers and sisters in Bolivia, who are rioting in support of the first Indigenous President, @evoespueblo. His commitment to the people, the land, their resources and protection against corruption is commendable." ImageImage
"So today, I thank all people who are willing to have an open mind, those who are willing to accept responsibility of planning for 7 generations ahead. For those who are thankful that you have enough food to feed your families, please give to those who aren't as fortunate." Image
"If you are warm and have a comfortable shelter to live in, please give to those who are cold and homeless. If you see someone hurting and in need of a kind word or two, be that person who steps forward and lends a hand." Image
"And especially, when you see injustice anywhere, please be brave enough to speak up to confront it." Image
"I want to thank all who are kind enough to remember me, my family in your thoughts & prayers. Thank you for continuing to support and believe in me. There isn't a minute in any day that passes without me hoping this will be the day I will be granted freedom." Image
"I long for the day when I can smell clean fresh air, when I can feel a gentle breeze in my hair, witness the clouds as their movement hides the sun and when the moon shines the light on the path to the sacred Inipi. That would truly be a day I could call a day of Thanksgiving." Image
"Thank you for listening to whomever is voicing my words. My spirit is there with you.

Doksha, In the Spirit of Crazy Horse,
Leonard Peltier" Image

Today the world is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Friedrich Engles, renowned across the globe as one of the greatest revolutionaries and theorists to ever live. Image
Engels, who along with Karl Marx founded the modern communist movement, was born on November 28, 1820 in what was then the Kingdom of Prussia. He dedicated his life to the revolutionary struggle of the proletariat to free itself from capitalism and usher in a new era of history. Image
Beyond the key documents he co-authored with Marx, Engels’ work has stood the test of time as an essential guide for successive generations of revolutionaries who want to understand the world in order to change it. Image

Biden is wasting no time putting together his thoroughly anti-worker, ultra-militarist government. Let's take a look at these cabinet picks. THREAD:
Long-time Biden aide Antony Blinken has secured the position of Secretary of State.

Blinken was Deputy Secretary of State during Barack Obama’s presidency, where he supported the disastrous war on Libya which created the conditions for the enslavement of Black people in Libya.
Earlier in Blinken’s career, when he was a top aide to then-Senator Joe Biden, he supported the invasion of Iraq and advocated the colonial-style partition of Iraq along sectarian lines.

PSL STATEMENT on the defeat of Donald Trump

More than 70 million people voted to oust Donald Trump. This was not a vote for Joe Biden, a truly uninspiring candidate who became the nominee when the Democratic Party ruling class establishment united to stop Bernie Sanders in March Image
Nor did the historic voter turnout for Biden signify support for his pro-Wall Street, pro-war positions and his role as an architect of the current system of policing and mass incarceration.
This morning the major corporate-owned media networks all announced that Joe Biden had sufficient electoral college votes to become the next president of the United States.

Right wing protesters have mobilized in several hotspots across the country following Tuesday’s election, using intimidation tactics in an attempt to tip the scales for Trump.
In Detroit yesterday a crowd of right wingers stormed a vote counting center to demand that absentee ballots not be tabulated, chanting “Stop the count!” The Trump campaign filed a lawsuit to halt vote-counting.
The racist character of the protests is clear considering Detroit is a city that is 79 percent African-American. On Nov 5. the Michigan Court of Claims denied the lawsuit, and counting is expected to continue for now.

🚨 EMERGENCY LIVESTREAM TONIGHT 8PM ET 🚨‼️

Police agencies in the Denver area arrested anti-racist organizers in a coordinated assault today. People were arrested in a Home Depot parking lot, at their homes, and after they were pulled over while driving.
Those arrested were the leaders to demand justice for Elijah McClain, who was brutally murdered by the Aurora Police Department. They are still in jail, with the exception of one person.
They are facing multiple felony charges and years in prison in an obvious frame-up aimed at stopping the movement for justice for Elijah McClain.

If you'd like to learn about communism, start with the Communist Manifesto. The Manifesto remains an inspiration for revolutionary change because it is not just the musings of social reformers, philosophers or political wannabes. It is a working class guide for changing the world
What separated the Communist Manifesto from the dozens of programs and manifestos issued by other revolutionary groups of the day? Why are all those other programs forgotten today but the Manifesto is still widely read?
Marx and Engels incorporated the most advanced political, economic and philosophical thought of the time into scientific socialism: determining the laws by which society changed and then applying those laws to bring about socialism and, in due course, a communist society.
