The impressive thing on retrospect is that I refused to pander to that new audience and pivot to becoming a dystopia-poasting account. I insisted on being visakanv. A good half of those new followers unfollowed pretty soon-ish
Similarly as my youtube grows I will eventually go viral for some unexpected thing but I will remain steadfast and insist on remaining visakanv. This is the essence of long game thinking

Somebody asked to see what it looks like when I’m tweeting, and I was like, how do I even show you how I’m tweeting? I cant record my fingers on my phone. Then I remembered that I have a camera 😂 so. Here is me tweeting, will attach a video at the end
Yes I actually do all of my threads one tweet at a time, like this. I don’t plan anything
We are over a minute in, this feels like it’s taking a little longer than it normally would, but I’m probably feeling weird because of the posture
1. an artist gets 3k RTs for gushing about receiving an order for $900 of prints
2. some other artists plug their own stuff in the replies, presumably hoping to get big orders too
3. some people have a problem with this
I have a range of semi-conflicting thoughts about this
I love art and artists and they should get paid
I think self-promotion can be an art form in of itself, and most people - artists in particular - aren’t typically very good at it
the sin is tackiness and bad aesthetics
I’m pretty comfortable identifying as a self-promoter
yet you may notice I don’t actively tell people to buy my ebook or subscribe to my youtube channel super often - I do those things about once a month. I’d probably make like 2-3x more money if I did it about once a week
