How I upsold a client from $5 β†’ $30,000+

πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡
It all started on Fiverr:

βœ… I offered a Web Design Analysis Report for $5.

It was a 3-page document suggesting some tips on how they could improve their website to get more sales.

πŸ‘‡
βœ… Then I upsold them to a Wireframe for $100.

This was a visual design of my suggestions.

πŸ‘‡
βœ… Then I upsold them to a Website for $1,000.

This was to implement my Wireframe and make it a reality.

πŸ‘‡
βœ… Then I upsold them on a Monthly Marketing Retainer for $250.

This was basic services like SEO and Social Media Posting.

πŸ‘‡
βœ… Then I upsold them to a higher Monthly Marketing Retainer for $500 and then $1,000.

As they got results, I added more services like Content Writing, AdWords, etc.

πŸ‘‡
This approach resulted in dozens of websites and referral clients.

Don't overlook the potential of starting small πŸ‘

πŸ”₯ My two-cents on:

β€œWhy would a client want to pay for a website, when they can just do it themselves for free with platforms like:

- Wix
- Shopify
- WebFlow
- WordPress
- Squarespace
- etc.

Here's my answer in a thread πŸ§΅β¬‡οΈ
Platforms like Shopify, SquareSpace, Wix and others are great.

They make creating sites super easy and you can often get good support as well.

Who would pay someone else to create websites when they could create it themselves and save the cash?
Think of it like this:

Why do people eat out when they could just eat at home?

There are so many options from:

- Fast-food
- Fine-dining
- Organic
- Asian
- Indian
- etc.

Then each subcategory has hundreds of restaurants to choose from as well...

Want to earn more as a freelancer?

Just double your hourly rate.

…wrong.

Here is ALL you need to know on how you charge for a website:

🧡
The problem:

Too many developers are quick to say $'x' for a 5-page website based on what is the β€œgoing rate.”

I’m going to share why I think there is a better approach.
I used to think that a website costs as much as I am willing to accept and as much as the client is willing to pay.

It needs to be cheaper than everyone else for the client to go ahead with it – or so I thought.
