Vedic Mantra: Without resort to writing, our forefathers had devised many ways to prevent even a small error to creep into the Vedas.

A fool-proof method used to chant each mantra in various patterns and combinations knowns as Vaakya, Pada, Krama, Jata, Maala, Sikha, Rekha, Dhwaja, Danda, Ratha , Ghana etc.
Some learned pandits are called 'GhanaPaatis'. What does that means? +
This means that they are learned in the Vedas to the extent of chanting of Vedas in the pattern called Ghanam. When we listen to a Ghanapaati reciting Vedas in Ghana form, we note that he repeats the words in various ways back and forth and in different patterns.
Vaakya Paatha or Samhita Paatha is to recite the mantras in a sentence straight. When mantras come in sentence, some of the words therein have to be conjoined in chanting.
Pada Paatha occurs after Samhita Paatha. In Pada Paatha the sentence is broken down to 'words' or pada.
This gives the student of the Vedas the knowledge of each word in sentence. Next is krama paatha, in this, the first word of a mantra is added to the second, the second to the third and so on until the whole sentence of mantra is completed.
In certain ancient edicts, at the end of the names of some illustrious persons, there would be suffix Krama-Vit, it means the person is well versed in reciting the Vedas by Krama paatha.

An auspicious day which has chaturdashi is first half & Poornima in the night. Poornimas and Amavasya thithis are looked for overlap with night. It is auspicious for Shakti aaradhanas. Devi Bhagwatam says there is no bhed betwn th puja of these 2 tithis
Kartik Poornima is called as Kriya Poornima. Maata lalitha parmeshwari resides in the moon today in Poornima chandra bimba. Today is the day for attaining the kriya shakti from maata.

On this day 365 Wicks are lit by the Yajmaani of home especially and others of the family to get rid of paapa / karma attached with not lighting the deeya once in a while here and there in the entire year.
This 365 wick is dipped in ghee lighted and left to float in river.

Salt Deeya is a major solution for gruha shanti. This deeya attracts more of positive and ashta aishwaryas. This deeya should be lightened at home where families more often have fights and quarrels. And one who wants turning point in life during helplessness.
1. You can use mix of sea crystal salt with little rock salt. 2. Make a small rangoli 3. Place the salt in mud paatra or any plate available 4. Place a mud deeya / Silver deeya and place 2 / 3 wicks together and ghee in the deeya. 5. Decorate with flowers
6. Light another regular lamp in your puja room. 7. Take an agarbatti and light this salt deeya by taking fire from the main deeya. 8. Offer piece of jaggery and water as prashad. 9. Sit and watch the deeya and meditate any bhagwan nama smaran / guru nama

Upavasa Vrata is a process of sacrificing food and getting the aatma or jiva habituate Parabhrama smarana even after having the pain of hunger
It is said that when a jiva leaves the body, one has a pain of some lakhs of poisonous insects attacking us. Fastings are done to help human attain a stage where body overcomes all suffering and gets habituated to Parabhrama nama smarana.
This helps the manava shareera to overcome the pain of jivatma's exit from the body and we take the Parabhramas nama during that time. Upavasa takes us steps closer to attain moksha. Just not eating food and not practicing the eeshwar smarana is not upavasa.
Many people think lighting a lamp is a duty of a woman in family. In fact it is a duty of Yajmaani ( Head of Family ) , the man of the family. A man should be performing puja and lighting the main lamp of the home.
A man lighting the main deeya and praying would give more benefits to the family than just a woman doing it. In addition the woman and children of family should light a deeya. This should be made a daily ritual for all in the family. There are reasons for the same.

It is said that our manas chitta is exactly the jyoti we light. A deeya represents our aatma and paramatma. A lamp with 2 wicks should be used for Devta Aaradhana. Anulyrhing above 2 wicks also have different usages. But, one shouldn't light single wick for Devta aaradhna
