"Barbeque guy" is Adam Skelly a small restaurant owner, who after 8 months of being jerked around by the public health public was told again to shut down. He then stepped out of the shadows and engaged in civil disobedience. 2/
Three brushes with the law later, an arrest, jail and bail, Mr. Skelly has emerged a champion of small business and the working middle class. Mr. Skelly has a righteous cause, a dedicated following and most importantly a skillful understanding of the law and the reopening act. 3/
The establishment loath Mr. Skelly for two reasons. His stance exposes everything that is arbitrary and dictatorial with the Covid response. Second, his actions reveal the ineptitude of the political/medical elite as they can't produce the data upon which decisions were made. 4/
Mr. Skelly and his lawyers have turned out to be rather savy. They've encouraged others to open and get charged and to become part of the broader legal action. As the pinned article highlights, the professional class is now flustered. 5/
Its not clear how this ends but one thing is certain. The gov't narrative weakens by the day as the Adam Skelly story line triggers the ever compelling "David and Goliath" narrative. Mr. Ford and Tory may want to consider an alternative way of engaging the work class public. 6/
