Donald Trump is now going on television and insisting that he lost the election because of "massive dumps." How are SNL and Alec Baldwin even supposed to top that?
President Obama is right. "Defund the police" is a terribly ineffective slogan. Most of the public thinks it means something entirely different than what the people using the slogan think it means. That's always a sign that you need to find a different slogan.
Liberal activists are on the correct side of the issues. They do great work. But I'll never understand why so many liberal activists insist on doubling down on failed buzz words like "defund the police" or "socialism" even after it becomes clear that the words aren't resonating.
Do you want to fight a winning battle for societal change, or do you want to fight a losing battle over your own misunderstood slogans? Are your slogans really more important to you than your mission? It's not about you. Ditch your failed slogans. Pick more effective words.
When the media spends years hyping a fictional narrative for ratings such as "you must panic over Bill Barr because he's going to magically rig things for Trump" and then that narrative comes crashing down, it's fun watching them try to spin it into how they were right all along.
We've gone from "Bill Barr has evil magic powers that you must panic over" to "Barr has bestowed evil magic powers on Durham that you must panic over." Some of you never do catch on that it's all about trying to scare you into staying tuned in. Ratings and nothing more.
Bill Barr has done enough damage as a mediocre henchman. It's not necessary to falsely paint him as a supervillain. If anything, that kind of fiction merely distracts from the actual harm he's causing, and lets him off the hook for it. MSNBC really does cause tangible harm.
Trump is telling the Governor of Georgia to "call off" the special election. That won't happen. But Trump is almost directly telling Republican voters not to bother participating in it. Trump is now trying to punish the GOP for not doing enough to save him on his way down.
President-elect Joe Biden spoke today. No insults were hurled. There were no international incidents. No one was improperly fired. Didn't pardon any of his friends. Not one mention of "massive dumps." I'm really liking this Biden guy.
