This is amazing stuff. Sure Trubisky was by far the least accomplished of the 3 QBs, and he didn't have more impressive physical skills either, but he DROVE A '97 CAMRY HE IS NO GLORY BOY
Trubisky showed incredible grit and spark and sandpaper while he was...uh, sitting on the bench for 2 years because he couldn't beat out [checks notes] Marquise Williams for the starting job, we must trade 4 picks to make sure we don't get stuck with Patrick Mahomes instead
The tl;dr is that Pace cut his teeth with the Saints, so he was determined to draft the QB who...looked the most like Drew Brees. What a way to run a $3.5 billion franchise
Also remember that KNOWING HE WOULD BE DRAFTING A QB WITH A TOP 5 PICK Pace also signed a replacement-level rando to a contract with nearly $20 M guaranteed for some reason

The attitudinal model works quite well for Supreme Court decisonmaking because the interesting cases disproportionately cluster at the right end of both continua. At he circuit court level, judges often have less discretion.
