Gender GP are outraged by the GIDS statement that yesterday's judgement applies to all PB/CSH treatment administered to under 16s in England & Wales. They say it doesn't apply to them, and they only treat where "benefits outweigh risks" in any case. This is followed by: 1/2
2/2 "Our goal is that no young trans person will have to experience a puberty that doesn’t align with their gender identity".
Hmm, doesn't sound like the risks are given much weight then, does it.
This page is a complete car crash 😠
About puberty: "...drastic changes that are about to happen, scary, irreversible, major body changes that will change their androgynous child self into a very stereotypical male or female adult." 'Stereotypical'😡
The "wrong puberty" leads to a need (!!) for invasive surgery.
This is so bonkers, I don't know where to start. It doesn't seem to occur to them that children could grow up to be happy with their bodies.
No word about the lack of sexual function, 'micro penis' etc. 😡
There is NO MENTION of psychotherapy. At all. Elsewhere on the site, they say that they don't believe in compulsory counselling. There is absolutely no word about underlying mental health conditions, neurodivergence, or lack of understanding of the long-term consequences.
In fact, interrogating motives for transition in children is bad! We should go right ahead!
Why, yes, of course the treatment is irreversible. That what the child wants after all!
How this outfit is still allowed to operate is beyond me.
Forgot to add ‘being gay and experiencing homophobia’ to the list.

She is very clear that the medical team behind GenderGP will continue to prescribe puberty blockers to existing and new patients under 16, because the organisation's consent process is "robust".
"Apart perhaps from life-saving treatment, there will be no more profound medical decisions for children than whether to start on this treatment pathway." #KeiraBell
The grown-ups have entered the room, thank God.
"There is a real benefit in the court, almost certainly with a child’s guardian appointed, having oversight over the decision."
"As we have explained above, we consider this treatment to be one where the protective role of the court is appropriate."
"Gender dysphoria or GD is a condition where persons experience distress because of a mismatch between their perceived identity and their natal sex, that is, their sex at birth. Such persons have a strong desire to live according to their perceived identity..."
If you read this judgement and come to the conclusion that Keira Bell lost ("in old money"🙄), then that is a sign of desparation and burying your head in the sand.
