She is very clear that the medical team behind GenderGP will continue to prescribe puberty blockers to existing and new patients under 16, because the organisation's consent process is "robust".

Apparently, the Tavistock may have given poor evidence on purpose.

She rightfully pulls the Tavi up on their extremely poor data management and lack of research.

Interestingly, the lack of evidence does not seem to concern Helen Webberley (other than the outcome of this court case).

But she says that the treatment "definitely saves lives".

Again, she is (rightly) pulling the Tavi up on not publishing the evidence from their own study. But immediately going on to say that lives are saved, patients on PBs are happy etc.

Why was Mermaids not involved? Arrogance by the Tavi?

@Transgendertrd advice is "awful" and "transphobic", but they spoke very eloquently in court 🙄

Marianne questioning the motives of the claimants bringing the case. Was Keira Bell put through conversion treatment? Making clear that's just an allegation. Referring to the supporters outside the court as exploiting the media.

Webberley arguing that GenderGP is the one following best guidance, and the Tavi isn't.

Gender GP will stand firm and will keep fighting for as long as it's needed.

Gender GP are now collecting their data from five years and publishing them.

Of course, they only follow the affirmation pathway, so...

Webberley wants the community to stand up. Wants interim solutions for NHS care. Is going to the Women's and Equalitly commission. "Put your name to it, get the banner out"

Marianne saying it was empty outside the court. Trans advocates need to be more visible.

Defining moment, people will be galvanised.

The wider families need to speak up, too. Spread the word.

Webberley talking about the charitable fund now. Some big donations apparently. "Nobody wants any person going without care. It should be provided on the NHS".

Tavi has stopped, who in the NHS is going to step in?

Marianne is implying that medication is the only option, and patients will be sent to CAMHS which are overwhelmed. Young people need the prescriptions.

Helen saying that more GPs need to start prescribing (risking GMC involvement) like she did.

Marianne: a doctor making the decision not to help a child could have ramifications. Thinks that, because the people who complained about Helen were named in court, it will make it easier for others to start prescribing.

Helen: because the Tavi has kept the discipline so specialised, not enough GPs have educated themselves because it's seen as specialised care.

Both are now drumming up support for the fund. "Let's be a community". Wants people to organise events to raise money for GenderGP

Marianne is encouraging that people take the GP pack to their GPs to "chip away at the resistance".

Helen is saying that the Tavistock have been too cautious and done too much "cage rattling", asking patients "Are you really sure?". So the judges have said if the Tavi isn't sure, how can the patient be sure?

Marianne: it's not a mental health problem. Why do we need psychiatry? There is a role, but not for all patients.

Helen: Gender GP is here to stay, no-one is taking us down. I am proud of the organisation I have founded.
