The big loser in this expose seems to be Abbe Lowell. Diller's dead. Baras has served his time. Broidy's already taken a zillion PR hits. But this suggests that DOJ at least suspected Lowell, a renowned defense lawyer, of illegally lobbying the WH.
nytimes.com/2020/12/03/us/…
Notably, Lowell represents GOP fundraiser Nickie Lum Davis. In August Lowell negotiated with DOJ a deal in which Davis pleaded guilty to aiding/abetting illegal lobbying for Malaysia (to kill DOJ's IMDB investigation) and providing evidence against Broidy. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
Lowell was also Davis' lawyer at the time she engaged in the 1MDB lobbying scheme she has admitted was illegal. And he was personally involved those lobbying efforts. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
So Lowell was personally involved in the 1MDB lobbying efforts over which is client, Davis pleaded guilty and implicated Broidy. And Lowell was involved with Broidy in this pardon scheme. Yet Lowell still represents Davis in court proceedings where she's adversarial to Broidy.
Someone could argue Lowell is conflicted. But Davis and Broidy have pleaded guilty and cut cooperation deals with DOJ that give cause not to rock the boat. And DOJ seems okay with Lowell repping Davis despite the pardon scheme involving Lowell and Broidy. So who's gonna complain?
Also Reid Weingarten represents Lowell, whose client Nicki Davis pleaded guilty to a crime related to Malaysian-funded efforts to get the Trump admin to extradite Guo Wengui to China. Weingarten also represents Steve Wynn, who pushed for Guo's extradition too. Small world.
Since I've veered into 1MDB, worth noting that Broidy and Lowell are among many prominent US lawyers/politicos who've made lots of money from Jho Low, the alleged architect of the looting of Malaysia's state 1MDB fund. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…

The final FY21 Defense Authorization bill requires any armed forces members, including Nat'l Guard, or federal law enforcement personnel responding to a civil disturbances/protests to display their name and the organization/force they work for, Murphy and Schumer note tonight.
This language seems to have been watered down a bit from Murphy and Schumer's original bill. murphy.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…. The NDAA version includes the attached exceptions for officers who don't normally wear uniforms and agents "engaged in undercover operations."
The legislation is response to lots of reporting, including, initially, by me for Mother Jones, on unidentified federal officers policing protests in DC in early June. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…;

Giuliani, maskless, is breathing heavily and perspiring, making wild unsupported claims. But what is running down his cheek?
Giuliani: "We use Venezuelan voting machines largely to count our vote. We let this happen, we're gonna become Venezuela....Americans "elected Donald Trump. They didn't elect Joe Biden." He's wrong. The company he's citing, Smarmatic, is based in London. And Biden won.
Sidney Powell, speaking now, is escalating her false, baseless, debunked claims of a international conspiracy to change votes. "Massive influx of communist money from Venezuela, Cuba, China.." funding "interference in our election." Here's more on her: motherjones.com/2020-elections…

3,999 participants on line for Trump for President v. Boockvar, featuring Giuliani. So maybe one more slot open?
Giuliani: "The best description of what we’re alleging … is that it's a widespread nationwide voter fraud of which this is a part...That’s why I’m here. It’s not an isolated case, it’s a case that is repeated in other jurisdictions." He says mail in balloting allows voter fraud.
Giuliani has now called Rahm Emanuel and Jimmy Carter "prophets."

Two of the operatives involved in Trump's effort to challenges votes, John Sweeney and Pam Bondi, are registered foreign agents. Two others, Giuliani and Lewandowski, have been accused of being unregistered foreign agents. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
Former Rep. John Sweeney, who Giuliani said is "going around the country" looking for voting irregularities, lobbies for a Kremlin-controlled Russian bank, VEB, and for Nordstream II, the Russian controlled pipeline project. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
Sweeney has also had varied personal and legal issues since his 2006 defeat in a House race, by now Sen. Gillibrand.

The Head of an Asian American GOP group endorsed Biden. Now he's under attack from the RNC. motherjones.com/politics/2020/… via @MotherJones
After Cliff Li, head of the National Committee of Asian American Republicans endorsed Biden, he got this cease and desist letter from the RNC telling him to stop using a logo resembling theirs. Li has used the logo for years without prior RNC complaint. documentcloud.org/documents/7281… Image
In the fairness to the RNC, the logos are quite similar. But they left Li alone as long as he didn't oppose Trump. ImageImage

Former top Trump fundraiser Elliott Broidy is now pleading guilty to participating in a conspiracy to violate FARA by concealing from the US gov his lobbying on behalf of Jho Low, the alleged architect of the looting of a Malaysian state fund, 1MDB. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
Broidy is also admitting that at least in part in exchange for payments from Jho Low, he also lobbied the Trump administration and Trump personally, to extradite Guo Wengui, a wealthy critic of the Chinese government, to China, where he faces charges. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
Broidy admits that in May 2017, he traveled to Hong Kong and then Shenzhen, China, where he met with Low and a Chinese official (Sun Lijun, then China’s vice minister of public security) regarding Guo's extradition.
