How did you get through 2020?
@LaurenzSide here! As 2020 comes to a close, YouTube asked me to share my Top 4 videos. #ThisIsHow I got through the year…
To feel better, I watched every Among Us gaming creator. Like my good friend @GloomyKassie. Or @Valkyrae, @Sykkuno, @Corpse_Husband, and @DisguisedToast. They always make me laugh, and helped me feel “social” in 2020. #ThisIsHow
To feel inspired, I watched @anthonypadilla talk about 2020’s most important issues like COVID and BLM. #ThisIsHow
To feel seen, I watched @ColleenB123’s “Colleen Vlogs” channel. Being newly pregnant in 2020 myself, it was so reassuring to see another YouTuber being honest about the struggles of being pregnant/a mom and a creator. #ThisIsHow
To feel connected, I watched @MrBeastYT’s Live Creator Game Tournaments. Ok, I may be a little biased because I got to take part in them BUT it gave everyone in the YouTube community something to come together for. #ThisIsHow
Who did you watch in 2020? Tag them with #ThisIsHow so we can spread the love. ❤️

26 Nov
For Indigenous and Native Americans, the fourth Thursday of November is dedicated to Indigenous history, activism, and resistance. It’s called Unthanksgiving.
Unthanksgiving is about acknowledging, educating, and honoring centuries of Indigenous resistance. Coinciding with New England’s National Day of Mourning, Unthanksgiving activates Alcatraz Island, the site of a 19-month occupation by Bay Area Natives in 1969.
For generations, Native Americans and Indigenous persons have shared their experiences, using Unthanksgiving as an opportunity for intergenerational and intercultural dialogue.

Today we’re sharing several changes designed to better protect data on children’s content on YouTube. Starting in about four months:
1. We will treat data from anyone watching children’s content on YouTube.com as coming from a child, regardless of the age of the user. This means we will only collect the data needed to support the operation of the service.
2. Personalized ads will stop running on content made for kids.

An open letter to our community:

Many of you have been frustrated with our lack of communication recently. You’re right to be. You deserve to know what's going on.
Like many others, we were upset by the video that was shared last week.
Suicide is not a joke, nor should it ever be a driving force for views. As Anna Akana put it perfectly: "That body was a person someone loved. You do not walk into a suicide forest with a camera and claim mental health awareness."
