1. Here is a list of corporations supporting the run-off campaigns of Loeffler and Perdue.
Loeffler and Perdue have embraced Trump's unhinged fraud conspiracies and support overturning the elect results and installing Trump for a second term.
1. I'm a fan of @OpenSecretsDC but this is absolutely false. The information about post 11/3 corporate donations to Perdue/Loeffler in my newsletter today is simply not available there.
@OpenSecretsDC 2. This is nerdy but I'll explain. You can navigate to Perdue's page and click on PAC donations.
That will give you a list of industries.
You can click through each industry to get individual donors.
But that wouldn't tell you which companies donated after 11/3
@OpenSecretsDC 3. Let's look in the Food and Beverage subcategory on Misc Business category. It tells you that Anheuser-Busch donated 5K to Perdue. And nothing from Molson-Coors.
But Actually Anheuser-Busch has donated 20K to Perdue and Molson-Coors 5K.
2. McConnell is interested in a new COVID relief package which could be because he suddenly cares about the economic condition of working people OR it could be that Perdue and Loeffler are both running on additional COVID relief and he needs one to win
3. But McConnell's proposal is more about saying Republicans support more relief than meeting human needs. Millions of people face eviction in 2021 but McConnell's proposal contains no money for rent support and no extension of the eviction moratorium
1. It's December in the middle of a deadly pandemic which has brought significant chunks of the economy to a halt and we are still allowing people to be evicted.
2. A study by public health researchers found that "lifting [eviction] moratoriums amounted to an estimated 433,700 excess cases and 10,700 excess deaths" between March 13 and September 3."
3. The CDC issued an "eviction moratorium" in September but it's full of holes. Tenants have to fill out a declaration to qualify and many don't even know about it. And it doesn't come with any rent support. So it's creating a bigger problem for January.
