There should be a year-end list of Best Shit Disturbers of the year. We need them to shine lights, make noise, where many others don't have the courage. I'll start: @JustSayRad (BTW they don't all have to be this likable. Often they are a pain in the ass and that's okay. )
I'm loathe to include @JesseBrown but I must.
(See? Some of them aren't as likable. Hi Jesse!)
@nicolestamp belongs there too, for kindly, but firmly and clearly schooling us all about how to be decent humans.
I love the way @jkwan_md @DFisman and @imgrund don't give any shits about who they piss off as they tell us the truth about the pandemic. They more than make the list. Shit disturbers extraordinaries. And brilliant.
@Ocap will always, always make this list. And this year @ESN_TO brought our attention to the threat of evictions to people living in tents in parks. Thank you!
And @ZoeDodd never couches her rage about things we need to look at, change, not stand by and accept. Always grateful to her for shining a light and demanding action.
I have loved the constant reminders from @SharkawyMD that the pandemic has a human face, and his sharing of the intimate moments of losing his patients, forcing us all to take this seriously, and never forget what is at stake.
I loved @ShadyAshamalla this year, expressing his frustration at how people would suffer from surgeries being cancelled, schools being closed, if this pandemic wasn't handled well. It was brave and honest.
I love how all these people let people see their anger, the urgency of situations, and screamed loudly about injustice and dishonesty. I love how they didn't hide behind diplomacy and cared about change first and foremost. Add to the list please!
And @drandrewb for never letting us forget inequity, and how marginalized people have become further marginalized during this pandemic. His reminders are clear constant, informative, eloquent and loud. I'm grateful to be informed by him, and always be given a larger context.
And no shit-disturber list would be complete without @HannahSung and @RunChiNguyenRun. Two women I admire so much and now can call friends! These ladies just don't quit. Juggling intense shit-disturbing with raising small kids, and never quitting. They fire on all cylinders.
Also the amazing ball of energy, brilliance, skill, strength and red-hot bullshit calling genius that is @kallipearl.
And this year I learned a wild amount from the force of courage and sharp wisdom that is @amanda_parris. Thank you for your amazing work.

1/7 The fact that masks have not been mandatory in indoor public spaces in Ontario for the past few months is a failure of leadership, @JohnTory This should have happened months ago.
2/7 Not only was there confused messaging about masks at the beginning, there was also offside public shaming from former city officials and others, towards people wearing masks who weren't either sick or healthcare workers.
3/7 Anyone with any common sense knew that masks made sense indoors, where transmission is highest.

1/ This is the worst movie I have ever seen.
2/ Unsurprising that this movie doesn’t work – the screenplay was a dog’s breakfast.
3/So much heavy handed foreshadowing. The apocalyptic footage from Wuhan, the super villain American president, the whistleblower dying, the Russia/China border closed while people still claimed it was just a flu, the warnings unheeded. Insulting to the audience's intelligence
