Dear You,

Did you hear that the brain behind the sex-for-grades BBC story (no, not Kiki Mordi, but Ogechi Obidiebube) attempted suicide?

She is said to have survived self poisoning.

Well.

It so happened that she was cheated.

#Thread
Despite being the chief reporter on the story she was sidelined when it came to getting proper credit and recognition for the job.

70 percent of the work done by her before Kiki Mordi came in. But because Kiki claimed she was a victim and probably had other qualities needed.
The powers that be put her on the project and they edged Oge out.

Yet, no matter what.

Suicide is not the way out.

And I don't know why some humans are so greedy? At the very least Kiki should have shared the cash.
I think those powers that be in BBC Nigeria (all the people that decided to sideline Oge) should be dismissed.

And sadly, it's obvious winning awards is the basis of their journalism.

Such a shame.
This will affect journalism negatively.
Desperation. Exaggerations. Lying will be involved in their storytelling.

All for award sake.

It is the sad trend that has seen journalists manipulating people to commit crimes so as to enrich their stories.
Credit or no credit shouldn't degenerate into suicide.

But I understand how depression can be tough.

And Oge seems too weak for the injustice. The same softness probably made it possible for her to have been sidelined in the first place.
But we must watch this dark crave for awards.

One guy in the Nation drove to Abidjan to interview Nigerian harlots.

He did that because of Fisayo Soyombo's story.

They both entered for the KOSCH awards.
It was a typical story that has been overdone in Nigeria. But he had to make it international.

I see all these things as manipulative.

You planned a story for an award?

Whereas, you should have done the story first, then let people appreciate it.
And whats really funny is these judges are blind to these schemes They are mostly interested in rewarding adventures.

And Nigerian journalists now know this.

That:s why you see kids now beating security to smuggle rice from Seme to Lagos. Just to prove the borders are porous.
One Premium Times guy was paying bribe to travel by water to Benin during Covid 19 lockdown.

To prove lockdown is not effective.

And he entered it for so many awards.

Same boy went and spent a night with an old harlot during Covid. And he wrote it.

What public good does these serve?

Journalism is becoming shitty in Nigeria if these are what happens behind the scene.

We must applaud @RGAMeyer for taking all the muck. She should be encouraged.
Her strides to see that Nigerian Journalism is not pissed at should be seen as a service to humanity and the nation.

I see her on Twitter and everywhere.

Correcting headlines.

Teaching ethics.

Telling journos to maintain the good standards of the profession.
She saw this injustice and ill practice. She decided to speak out. Even though Kiki Mordi has managed to fortify herself with legions of supporters from Feminist Coalition.

Yet @RGAMeyer stood for the truth.

And that's true journalism.
That the Sex-For-Grades BBC documentary was done in the most corruptible manner.

Is a shame.

Values and ethics thrown out the window.

Now what makes the culprits that sidelined Oge different from the lecturers they accused in the documentary?

What makes @kikimordi different?
If she can do anything for a byline.

Ruona tweets that Kiki 'chooks' for bylines.

Chook means she gives sex just to have her name as credit on a story.

And we trust Ruona to have her facts and evidence tight before voicing such.

If she offers sex-for-byline.
Lecturers demand sex-for-grades.

You see the mess?

Now the devil feels cheated.

The lecturers and the bad eggs wont like this.

Just because they dont have a BBC backing or CNN.

They can't fix their own camera on the journalist.

And beem the lights.
The crave for awards is making journo cheat and destroy comradeship.

But Kiki is smart though.

Her curtship with advocacy covered her well.

Thats the shortest cut to fame.
Do advocacy stories in favor of LGBTQ, prostitution, weed legalisation. CNN will celebrate you because it is part of their agenda in Africa.

She refused settling amicably with Oge because she knew she had the backings of the Feminist Coalition and the powerful LGBTQ community.
While Oge cried no one listened.

But Ruona added her voice against the injustice.

BBC should investigate this.

And make the due correction.

This is not good at all.

May we not get to that point where the journalists too can't be trusted.

Who will now be the watch dog?

Your Excellency,

Gov @jidesanwoolu.

You are needed in Manchester United sir.

This ball control is what Manchester United needed to win yesterday.

And see the way you effortlessly and masterfully trapped the pass from Asisat Oshoala.

Golden pass. Golden control.
Tiki. Taka.

"Today, Asisat Oshoala paid me a courtesy visit. She is a worthy ambassador of Lagos from Ikorodu and we are proud of her. She spoke about her plans for the Asisat Oshoala Foundation and I promised to support her.
We kicked the ball for a bit and I think I still have my skills."

That was your message after the brilliance exhibited in the photo.

I'd appreciate of you can do something splendid in Lagos.

Football is a culture.

We are talking about a Trillion Dollars culture.

At @AsisatOshoala how does it really feel to be Nigeria's current best player (male & female)? Asking because I believe you deserve more praise than you get. Let's face it. Barcelona (Female team) is as TOP CLASS as it gets. The last time we had a player rep us this well ...
... in a Level A Clup Side was probably a very long time ago. I dont count Chelsea as TOP A. But then it's a decent GRADE B. And we had Mikel and co do us proud there. But who else? Who else play in Barca, PSG, Bayern Munich, Man United, Man City, Juventus, Real Madrid...?
Okay. Ighalo is on loan for United. There. Thats something too. Victor is in Napoli. Thats also great especially because of the money spent to get him. Last time, you got to the UCL (women) final. When was the last time any S/Eagles or S/Falcons player got to such stage in UCL?
