I know what I went through at KMPG UK and at Channels TV because of office politics. If I'm carrying the matter on my head, e get why.

If you smear me with the "misogynist" label because of that, I am here to tell you that it is 100% your problem. It's your electricity and data.
The difference between Oge and I is that I was raised by the world's biggest bully, so from age 5 or so I have learned to fight for my fucking life.

If not for that reservoir of violence, I could have ended up in a similar situation to her.

This shit is very personal for me.
I HATE people whose main skill in life is knowing how to network, make friends and grift their way through stuff without actually being exceptional at anything.

I hate them because they feed on the output of people like us who prefer to just work and let it speak for us.
I understand EXACTLY how lonely, depressed, hopeless, defeated and hopeless it feels to be the well pumping out ideas and execution while other people are experts at putting their faces in front of the cameras.

I've been there too many times!
Heck I didn't know Oge existed until last week. I "knew" that Kiki Mordi "did the investigation." That's how these people work. The ones who prefer to work pour out the goods, and they get to receive scholarships and awards and grants and Twitter sainthood.

That shit STINGS.
Most of you hadn't even heard of me until February or March last year. Meanwhile I've been in and around the Nigerian media space since 2013!!! I spent 6 years doing all kinds of work for people you know, and nobody knew who TF I was for YEARS.
For the sake of my salary as a content developer some years ago, I watched an "award winning Nigerian author" take my 2,000-word Thisday centrespread which was supposed to properly launch my career, and put his name on it.

I couldn't talk because I was powerless.
There's a current state first lady whom I wrote a couple of speeches for, and she delivered them to rapturous ovation.

Till now as I type this, I have not received one red cent for my services. Nigerians are EXPERTS at using and dumping!

It hurts!
In 2017, @TheOtherNewsCTV got over 6,000 applications when recruiting for writers. I got in as the top-ranked applicant. I did so well that I was part of pre-production brainstorming and I was asked to recruit the rest of the writing team for the show....
One of the writers I brought in later found herself by sheer happenstance in a position where she was more or less my boss, because Channels was unstructured like that.

This babe made it her mission in life to sideline me because she felt threatened by my presence. Man...
I was going to leave the show beaten and shamed, after collecting N400k/month to sit idle and watch Youtube for 6 months, but thankfully my earlier work somehow spoke for me.

The New Yorker featured me and I got nominated for an IVLP. That's how I exited Channels 'gracefully.'
Office politics?

Man you don't even understand, I couldn't give two shits about Kiki Mordi - it's what the fuck she represents that I absolutely, utterly, completely detest.

The sheer gleefulness with which you prance around with work that YOU KNOW is NOT YOUR OWN.

Tufiakwa!!

Nothing to see here. Just a few friends hanging out a few months before someone not in the pictures was forced to take her name off her work which was supervised by someone in the pictures, so that another person in the pictures could become a star.

Just Nigeria Nigeria-ing...
Before the inevitable delete.
Favour over labour baby.

May the office politics we play not become the subject of tabloid headlines.

Office politics kills.

What is implied in Marina Forsythe's statement here is that Oge did not even want to be anonymous. The BBC forced it on her due to "security considerations" and then parachuted in a clout artist to take the glory.

No wonder Oge unravelled. This is scandalous.
They really used and dumped this girl! This is premium Nigerian office politics at its height!

Kiki Mordi is not a good person at all!

When Nigeria segments along its natural boundaries, maybe the leadership problem for the southern half can be solved using the Somalia example where their entire parliament and cabinet is now from the 2nd or 3rd generation diaspora.

Those of us born here have been contaminated.
It goes back to how our parents raised us. 99% of us are abuse victims who have internalised the gratuitous and senseless cruelty. Given the slightest amount of power, we turn into brutal dictators because we are being teleguided by the ghost of our dysfunctional childhoods.
People like me who consciously rebelled against that system from an early age aren't excepted either, because we either try to go it alone and fail, because a system always defeats an individual; or we gather followers and become another type of dictator.

When I worked on a report on the origins of violence in the north last year was when I lost all sympathy. They actively incubated a monster that is beyond being tamed now.

I'm going to reveal something in this thread that I guarantee most of you have never heard of before.
Are you aware that those in charge of northern Nigeria's political Islam establishment spent decades pacifying their horrendously poor constituents by promising them the land belonging to northern Christians once Sharia was implemented?

Let me give you a background.
Due to monogamous marriage which limits their population expansion, northern Christian land inheritance is largely linear, i.e the number of descendants fighting to inherit land from the father is limited, which gives them economic leverage in an area where land is the only asset

The truth is that it was this legendary Northern Nigerian hypocrisy and penchant for deceit that made some of us (self included) doubt that Chibok actually happened.

Because the Arewa I know is capable of staging such an event just to score political points.

They have NO SHAME
It wasn't until Dr. Oby and a few credible people got involved and provided evidence and documentation that I believed that it even happened.

I always take anything coming out of that place with a plate of salt.

Their entire culture is built on lying and deceit.
It is a culture that literally has no redeeming feature, and will inevitably eat itself as it is already doing.

There is no way to "reform" it because it contains nothing worth salvaging. And since they will never renounce it even if it kills them, it probably will.
