(6/6) So, while @DaveSharma is not lying, he’s hiding the fact that since Morrison became PM (2015), the LNP have done zero to help reduce CO2 emissions and thus help tame Climate Change. It’s no wonder that so many countries around the world treat our government with disdain.
ADDENDUM #1: Interestingly... from (5/6), we see that Keating showed it was possible to reduce CO2 emissions by 25 Mt/yr on average. Imagine the strong position we'd be in now if the Howard government had followed through. We'd be leading the world!
ADDENDUM #2: (1/2) So what does 515 Mt look like?
• 515 Mt = 515,000,000,000 kg.
• If a person’s average weight is 70 kg, then 515 Mt represents 7,360,000,000 people. Earth’s population is 7,600,000,000 people.
ADDENDUM #2: (2/2) So the yearly amount of CO2 that Australia pumps into the air is the weight of Earth’s entire population. The problem with CO2 is it doesn’t just magically disappear. Once CO2 is in the air in quantities we’re putting there, it creates problem.
