Dr Kapany’s research on fibre optic communications, lasers, bio-medical instrumentation, solar energy and pollution monitoring led him to gather more than 100 patents. In 1960, he founded Optics Technology Incorporation & again in1973, he founded Kaptron Inc.
He was Regents Professor at UC Berkeley and at UC Santa Cruz. At Stanford, was a Visiting Scholar in Physics Dept, Consulting Professor in the Dept of Electrical Eng. As an author & lecturer, Dr Kapany published 100 scientific papers & 4 books on opto-electronics, & entrepreneurs
Dr Kapany endowed a Chair of Opto-Electronics at UC, also a trustee of the Menlo School in Menlo Park, California. In 1967 he founded the Sikh Foundation, established Sikh Studies Chairs & Fellowships in leading universities and long-term and permanent Sikh Arts exhibits

Man who bent the light: Here is a short video on Narinder Singh Kapany from @UniofOxford that explains his invention of fiber optics
Like most innovations in history, there are many individuals whose collective genius helps develop the product from concept to reality. Here is a thoughtful look at many who helped develop optic fiber technology

Firm says it could make 10 million doses vaccine per month against the #coronavirus, if approved by FDA. Medicago CEO Bruce Clark said they could produce as many as 10 million doses a month. How could they do that so fast? Using plant GMO, that’s how! defenseone.com/technology/202…
