The first edition of Dangerous Places was actually a black cover, print on demand book. The first Fielding version had a surly Somali and sold over 140,000 copies. I of course insisted on updating it every few months. ebay.com/itm/WORLDS-MOS…
When I sold Fielding's (Microsoft used it to create Expedia) Harper Collins put DP on the New York Times best seller list. That was 2003. Kathy Huck edited it into actual english. I was busy hitting wars every four weeks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World…
By then I was the the guy who made videos on Discovery with disclaimers. Kudos to them for showing the brutal reality of war.
