Can anyone tell me what is new about this BI story about Kushner setting up the campaign shell company? To the best of my knowledge the name of the company was known, its "shell company" use within the campaign was known, a rough sense of its budget, etc. etc.
2/ This isn't a lo-fi criticism. I'm actually trying to understand what part of this is new. It seems to be possibly Kushner's role setting it up? Or the roll of a Pence nephew failson?
3/ So having read through the piece and checked some earlier notes, it seems like the existence of this company, its scale, how it used money etc has all been reported before. What is new is the role of Lara Trump and secondarily Pence's nephew.
4/ Now, that's interesting. But it's not terribly surprising given Lara's role in the Trump campaign operation. What seems new is pretty inferential but I think significant - perhaps significant for understanding the origin of the story.
5/ Earlier reporting on the company tended to present it as the creature of Brad Parscale, perhaps a vehicle for his own self-enrichment. This reporting says, no, Kushner set it up and the Trump family (even the Pence family) were intimately involved with it.
6/ Now, I have no idea who's right or wrong between Parscale and the Trumps on this. The Trump's are all habitual thieves and crooks. But that's the key to this story: showing that whatever Parscale was doing was 100% at the Trump family's behest, with their visibility.
