People hate the phrase defund the police.

Yet we defund education and healthcare almost every year.

I live in a parish with 11 different police agencies, in the 2nd most incarcerated place in THE WORLD. It hasn’t solved crime.

Move the money. It’s not making us safer.

Call it defund.

Call it reappropriate.

Call it reallocate.

Call it reprioritize.

Call it whatever the hell you want.

Cops don’t need bigger budgets.

Cities need better plans to address the social ills of communities. That’s how we fix communities, not more cops.

People want us to pretend that we don’t have the consciousness or clarity of thought to know conservatives move money from important things all the time. Nearly every legislative session or council meeting.

Go tell somebody who doesn’t read a budget that moving money is wrong.

We would make cops safer if we had actual plans for job creation outside of policing.

The truth is, the police departments and corrections agencies in many places are job farms. A place they hire people who would otherwise be jobless.

That’s why they block us out.

There may be good cops, that doesn’t negate the fact that policing has to change if we are going to build stronger communities.

If you’re about solving problems, then find new solutions other than more guns and brutality.

Yea I said it. I stand on it too.
