traditional institution as soft targets of attack and kidnapping. As it stands today we have 2 out of 10 of our Districts Head in the den of the kidnappers. One of them for the 2nd time while the order still in captivity despite collecting ransom

but the bandits have refused to release him with his whereabouts presently unknown because they have stopped making any contact. Two days ago, they ransacked a Village Head's house, burnt his 2 vehicles, set a house ablaze and shot dead 2 persons. Only about 2 weeks ago @PoliceNG

another Village Head secured his freedom but not after he parted away with N4m and a brand new Bajaj motorcycle.

In fact there is no blessed day that we do not get reports of one kidnapping or killing or the order in the entire Emirate.

We have heard of the establishment of a MILITARY SUPER CAMP around the precincts of KUKOKI/HANA WANKA axis of neighboring Shiroro LGA (of Minna Emirate) where the bandits have turned to be their operational base with no sight of the Camp happening.

Rafi LGA being purely agrarian is today pitiful with not much food to it because our people were not allowed to farm or harvest the few that they have planted. The bandits resorted to setting on fire farm produce that were harvested or about to be harvested.

Scores of our local vigilante outfits have been killed (they are the first target of the bandits whenever they strike or invade a community), the latest being that of Madaka village last night where the local commander & his son were killed. Madaka is known as hub for yam farming

and rice as well as other cash and food crops. But today I do not think that the local community have even produced what to feed themselves talkmore of getting some cash for their crops.

This if not checked can threaten the ongoing work on Zungeru Dam Project

It is on the light of the above mentions that we are earnestly calling for the authorities to do the needful to avert further economic, national and international embarrassment.

Just got another report that 2 more persons were killed by bandits at Unguwar Meru (Kusharki District) last night: a 65yr old Muhammadu Bello and a 30yr old Lawali Meru.
This has become a daily report/occurrence in that part of the State (Rafi LGA) for a very long time now.
