#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo on the number of witnesses the commission has called since August 2018. 278 witnesses and over 51 000 transcripts
#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo says the commission has called a total of 278 witnesses since it's inception in 2018, over 51 000 transcripts, 159 109 affidavits, 323 hearings and 2736 summons.
#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo says the Eskom work-stream is near completion, he says only a few witnesses are left. He says Eskom should be concluded in January.
#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo says following the Eskom related evidence he will be hearing oral evidence related to Parliament oversight and after that President Cyril Ramaphosa and the ANC will appear before the commission. Former President Jacob Zuma is scheduled for January 18th
#StateCaptureInquiry The commission has until the end of March 2021. Zondo says they will apply to the high court to apply for a further three months until June. He says the national lockdown interfered with the commissions ability to conclude oral evidence.
#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo says he does not expect the Guptas to come back to South Africa especially while the commission is underway. He says it would have been great to have their evidence.
#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo says the fact that the Guptas did not come to give oral evidence before the commission will not jeopardise the credibility of the commissions work.
